I’m always interested in something better or fresh ideas.
I added the autowit to the Amazon list to keep it in mind.
Thanks.
I bought one of the lithium-ion battery pack jump starters after seeing a woman start her car with one. Advantages/disadvantages vs. a capacitive unit?

I have an analog tach-dwell meter and a timing light. I almost ended up with a carb synch setup, but I didn’t want to risk the storage (tubes filled with Mercury).
To go with your cheap scan tool I love OBDFusion. It’s a software app that does so much more than just read codes. You can data log lots of variables and the tool will email the log to your computer for analysis. Costs about $5 last I looked.
They can work if the battery isnt way low
If the battery is very low it just wont have the ability to discharge fast enough to bring it back
Very nice being lighter and compact than a typical jump starter, though
And you can use this to charge up an autowit device and then connect the autowit to your car
I spent $120 for a similar gadget last summer. Big mistake, and the return-by date is long past. It's on a shelf. Thankfully I still had my trusty Schumacher lead-acid jumper battery charged up, or it would have been an embarrassing call to AAA.
Yes, me as well :)
Back in the 50’s and 60’s, going on long trips, dad carried a starter, generator, water pump, points, plugs, belts, hoses and a battery cuz a few of those things would fail us.
I for one, am truly glad they don’t build cars like they used to.
Doesn’t work if the battery is really dead and the one I had the Li Ion cells swelled up probably from the heat and cold of being kept in the car outside.
My parents got me a AAA membership when I first started driving. I’ve kept up my membership since then.
Is this a phone app?
Sounds like a great auto tool.
I struggle with the disassembled jalopy collection and I’m all the labor there is, any help matters.
The latest big thing is the CJ7s body tub. It’s been sandblasted. The floor pans are peppered good. I got myself floor pans for Christmas. Sooner or later, the powder coat crowd will have the welding and powder coating done.
They were impressed in how good a shape the 82’s tub was in otherwise. Me too.
Yeah me too
Imagine if we had to run through a checklist and testing and maintenance like they do with military planes everytime they fly.
Yeah, its a really good design
