President Trump has been very selective when using his clemency powers. But whenever he does use them, the left is predictably outraged.
When Trump granted a full pardon to former National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, they had a collective hissy fit. Never mind the fact that if there was ever a case where there was a miscarriage of justice, it was this one, and the pardon was long overdue when it was granted. Democrats want us to forget that Flynn was set up by the Obama administration and railroaded by the FBI. Simply put, they went after him for something that was not a crime, then set up a perjury trap for him in order to get him fired as Trump’s national security advisor. Obama officials also withheld exculpatory evidence, and launched and carried out a bogus investigation over claims of Russian collusion where there was no empirical evidence.
Trump’s pardon of Flynn shouldn’t even have been necessary. The case should have been dropped immediately after evidence presented by Flynn’s lawyer, Sidney Powell, showed that “corrupt agents” threatened Flynn’s son to pressure him into pleading guilty.

They can kiss my foot over Trumps pardons....and can kiss any other unexposed parts of my body that takes their fancy.
Here’s why.
“Obama from his total 1,927 grants of clemency. That number includes 212 pardons and 1,715 commutations, including 330 that he granted on his last day in office”
I didn’t hear the Lame Street Media or Republicans wailing about this.
He hasn’t pardoned anybody who planted bombs or sold weapons to a terrorist regime. This is what most sets him apart from Obama or Clinton.
Some of the people he had released were caught in the web of the Mueller mess. Since the Mueller mess should have never happened, it is logical that these people wouldn’t have become the governments’ victims.
Clinton pardoned the underground weathermen but the left had no problem with that.
Two faced media on the march.
Mueller mess was political trial, similar to Stalin’s purges (not that deadly, thanks God).
All those should never been prosecuted, and the pardon is actually long overdue!
I just hope that Weisman gets fair trial for that!
They always complain about pardons except when the Democrats sell them.
I support Trump’s pardons. I don’t see anything wrong with them whatsoever. It will be interesting to see if Assuage and Snowden get a pardon too.
obama pardoned drug dealers.
Trump’s pardons don’t begin to compare.
Who’s left? Assange and Snowden predate Trump.
These acts of depravity by the offenders appear to be resume builders for liberals.
“He hasn’t pardoned anybody who planted bombs or sold weapons to a terrorist regime. This is what most sets him apart from Obama or Clinton.”
Per the Constitution, the president ““shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.”
Seems pretty clear to me. Presidents can issue pardons for any federal crime, end of story. Works the same way for any president, Republican or Democrat. Every president has the ability to use this power however he sees fit.
