Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy and Army chief of staff Gen. James McConville released a statement Friday saying they will not participate in a martial law order following the stolen election.
This came after General Michael Flynn suggested President Trump should order the US military to help seize the Dominion voting machines used in this year’s fraudulent election for testing.
Newsmax reported:
Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s Newsmax TV remarks on President Donald Trump weighing “martial law” and “military capabilities” amid election fraud has forced U.S. Army leaders to issue a statement Friday rejecting that consideration.
“There is no role for the U.S. military in determining the outcome of an American election,” Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy and Army chief of staff Gen. James McConville wrote in a joint statement Friday.
The statement echoed one by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley before the election.

True enough. They may, however, have a role in enforcing the results.
Didn’t the US Military have a strong role to play in running some Iraqi Elections?
Not his call.
Good, now we know who the bad generals are.
I’m guessing, Trump already knew.
“Didn’t the US Military have a strong role to play in running some Iraqi Elections?”
Yes, they did, but this swamp military doesn’t like Trump. I bet they would do this for Obama.
No, you invoke the Insurrection Act... not marshal law.
They will obey the civilian leadership or resign.
To be fair to McCarthy and Gen. McConville, Flynn knows better than to talk on behalf of others like he did.
Milley should have been fired when Esper was fired.
People of honor resign.
What if they don’t ?
Hi.
In the fwiw department, this whole event reminds me of December 1860.

The role of the army is to keep the defense contracts going to keep funding the swamp.
I think what they’re saying is that there’s no “insurrection” (i.e., they would not consider behind-the-scenes efforts to steal an election to be a justifiable reason to invoke the Insurrection Act).
Agreed on the Insurrection Act - though I have to call you out on your spelling,; it Martial Law, it Marshal Law (pet peeve of mine, seen it a LOT recently).
... and if the election is a hostile takeover, Generals .... ?
Milley is irrelevant.
So, fraudulent election are legal?
Officers of the US Army by tradition used to never vote; they stayed out of the internal affairs of the US entirely.
Now we seem to have them commenting on Trump’s alleged use of tear gas in DC, and election fraud.
They need to keep their mouths closed. PERIOD.
