The One Party System in Washington D.C.
Typical of the national media, Reuters reports “Trump, 70, takes over a country divided after a savage election campaign.” The fact is that voters were divided way before the election campaign; however, there was no such division in Congress. “Striking a defiant tone, Trump said American workers have been devastated by the outsourcing of jobs abroad.” Trump defied the one party system in Washington D.C. His defiance was a pushback against the One-Party-System.
For example, the Republicans were complicit in raising the national debt to more than $9 trillion dollars. Republican voters opposed a debt increase, but obviously the Republicans in Congress did not. The Republican establishment knew that its constituents repelled raising the national debt and favored shutting down the government, so the establishment had to find a way to raise the debt ceiling, seeming to oppose it. The one party system went into action.
It is my opinion that the Republicans intended to increase the national debt regardless of the fact that it would clearly become unsustainable. In order to conceal their plan leaders in congress plotted. It had to appear to voters that the Republicans opposed a debt increase. With the cooperation of the national media, Republican members in the Senate quietly agreed to lower the voting requirement which would allow the democrats to pass the debt increase without a republican vote. It was this kind of deception over the years that voters recognized the really of a one party system in Washington D.C.
To avoid the collusion, it was necessary to elect a third party candidate. Trump is that candidate, all-be-it he did so as a Republican in name only. If the argument is that any of the other Republican candidate could have beaten Hillary, the response is that such a victory would not have changed the single party system, The Republicans are to the Democrats what the Washington-Generals were to the Globetrotters. Like the victorious Globetrotters of old, the Democrats have virtually won every contest as the Republicans created the illusion that they were the opposition party.
Proof that there has only been one party in Washington D.C. is the fact that Republicans and Democrats vehemently opposed Trump’s nomination. When Trump took the stage with 17 other Republicans candidates, he surgically removed each Republican Party opponent. He was not bound by Reagan’s 11th Amendment, that tutors the party not to fight among themselves. As a true 3rd Party candidate, Trump was free to teat Republicans as adversaries. Trump is the only person on earth who could have won.
Undermining integrity of elections is aggressive marketing aimed at deflecting your attention from folks actually undermining elections, by not investigating actual fraud.
Why would a person (and his/her handlers) spend $millions or even $10s-of-millions to get elected to a job that pays $174,000 per year.
The answer to that tells you all you need to know about politics in DC.
