This morning Google had a wittle boo-boo. YouTube had a wittle oopsie. Google Home and Nest users couldn't adjust their thermostats or lights. Frankly, if you're stupid enough to let Big Tech control your home, you deserve what you get!
But I digress.
All the Google apps went down this morning...sorta'. The outage only affected some people in select places. Am I the only one with dubiously raised eyebrows???
According to the DailyMail, "There has been no explanation provided for today's difficulties." Later Google blamed it on, "internal storage quota issue."
Uh-huh. Apparently, they forgot to include "buy more servers" on last week's grocery shopping list. That just doesn't happen.

Considering Incognito Mode allowed you to still use services, I’d say more than likely poor widdle Google couldn’t handle the deluge of people logging in to find about the electoral college!

Well my Google Home interfaces with a third party light control switch.
So even though I couldn’t tell Google Home to turn out the lights. I was able to go to the third party phone app and turn the lights out without Google home.
I also could have gotten up and turned off the wall switch.
I suspect they were down because of the CISA warning/order to remove all SOLARWINDS ORION NETWORK MANAGEMENT PRODUCTS.
Just my educated guess.

All the big services down one hour or so. Completely dead. Internet remained available throughout.
Even Downdetector remained in service, but it was showing red for all of Europe, and Asia yellow (sort of available). Which was odd, because every service I checked (on Downdetector) from Asia was red, DOA. Ain't that strange.
