Welcome to the Houston Courant’s first annual Golden Donkey awards. This coveted prize is presented in various categories to the person, organization, industry, government bureau, political party, or nation that most exemplifies the Leftist culture. Please cast your vote at the bottom of the page and we will announce the winners in late-December. Leon Trotsky Award for Outstanding Sycophancy by a Politician or Activist Group. The nominees are:
Mitt Romney for his role in undermining every effort by President Trump in order to curry favor with the media.
The Lincoln Project for its efforts to curry favor with the Corporate Globalist wing of the Republican and Democratic Parties
Bernie Sanders for acquiescing to the Democratic Party bosses and letting Joe Biden steal the Democratic Party presidential nomination. This is the second time Bernie has done this to his supporters.
Danilo Dolci Award for the best Useful Idiot(s) Exhibiting Blind Loyalty to a Person or Cause. The nominees are:
Bernie Bros who despite being repeatedly sold out to the Democratic Party bosses by their leader Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) - continue to mindlessly follow him as if he were actually a serious politician and not someone who capitalizes on his demagoguery.
Black Lives Matter - Never has one organization done so much to contravene its stated goal while convincing others that their objective is pure. Encouraging race riots, emasculating law enforcement, and defunding police departments putatively to save Black lives threatened by White police. Meanwhile staying silent as thousands of Blacks - even infants- are slaughtered by other Blacks in America’s towns and cities. Still despite the obvious hypocrisy, their followers - elderly Episcopalian suburban women put BLM signs on their lawns, young White college students self-righteously march on.
Antifa - AKA Rebels Without a Clue. A bunch of young whites parading around who do not have the slightest idea as to what they are doing or why. Their “protests” remind one of college campus riots after sporting championships.They are completely unrelated to their stated objective but the kids are having fun and the elders are reliving their Woodstock days. So what does it matter?
Armand Hammer Award for Wealthy Corporate Leftist(s). The nominees are:
George Soros - No explanation needed.
Silicon Valley- If you need an explanation you have not been listening.
Home Depot, Target, Walmart, and all other corporate contributors to Black Lives Matter.
Bolshevism Award for Quickest Appeasement of Leftists The nominees are:
The NFL - Special Mention of Jerry Jones for making a total smacked ass of himself by joining players to take a knee on the field and Daniel Snyder for complete capitulation to wackos.
The NBA - For writing “social justice” messages on the court.
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Kranser - for quickly arresting anyone trying to prevent defacing of a Columbus statue and even more quickly releasing Antifa thugs arrested for trying to deface the statue.
Covington (KY) Catholic High School and the Diocese of Covington - for joining a lynch mob of Native American “activists” persecuting a Covington HS student.
Chairman Mao Award for Best Demonstration of Leftism in Academia The nominees are:
Boston University - for having not one but two Black professors who condemned Whites. One, in particular, said Justice Amy Comey Barrett was a “White Colonizer” for adopting Black Haitian kids.
Harvard University - for circulating a petition banning Trump officials from working, lecturing, or appearing on campus - even before anyone has been asked.
NYU - for ignoring academic freedom - normally cherished by Leftists- and investigating one of its own professor’s course content and blog posts.
Assata Shakur Award for Advocating Abolition of Police The nominees are:
1. Antifa
2. Black Lives Matter
3. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
RINO Award for Best Performance by a Republican Pretending to Be Conservative The nominees are:
Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) - for his ludicrous appearance on Tucker Carlson attempting to defend his bill to eliminate qualified immunity for police - which is a holy grail for libertarians, not conservatives. Braun said the GOP must be more Leftwing than Democrats and libertarians. He also said that law enforcement approved his bill but this was denied by law enforcement organizations.
Bill Kristol - the longtime neocon editor, and pundit has always promoted himself as the epitome of a conservative Republican and indeed successfully fooled 90 percent of Republicans and conservatives. He was a frequent speaker at conservative conferences and an honored guest by conservative organizations - validating John Stuart Mill’s contention that conservatives “ are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives.” After Trump was nominated Kristol became a much-prized pundit for liberal news broadcasts on ABC, MSNBC, and elsewhere.
David Frum - the former George W. Bush speechwriter turned staff writer for the Leftist publication The Atlantic and frequent guest on Leftist MSNBC, was always a liberal Republican masquerading as a moderate. Frum, like his favorite novelist, the alleged homosexual Marcel Proust, holds conservatives in disdain. He has inveighed against the Tea Party, as well as, Congresswoman Michele Bachman and her “co-religionists.” One must wonder what he thought of his boss George W. Bush being an evangelical.
The Democrat Party. Sorry, I can’t seem to narrow it down further.

Excellent nominees, They should all win. Issue a blanket award, after all, they’re all in bed with each other.
