Burning up end of year funds

I thought the federal government's fiscal year was offset from the calendar year by a few months?

Back in my heyday during my assignment is the Strategic Air Command we would have Operational readiness inspections. During those inspections we would have an immediate wing alert launch. That included all of the alert bomber aircraft and alert KC-135 refueling planes. That wing once launched would really crowd the air space for a while until they got their gaggle together well above sea level.

what some people are seeing is an Alert issued by Stratcom to the Nuclear Alert Forces.

• I told you on 11/13 that the US had raided and seized servers in Frankfurt, Germany. That article received so many comments saying I was certifiably insane for believing such bunk...until it became common knowledge.
• CIA's Gina Haspell was on-site in Frankfurt during the raid and wounded in the fracas as were, reportedly, five of the good guys.
• ...there was a flight out of Frankfurt to GITMO that day which jives with the rumor that Gina began "singing like a canary" on that flight.
• The same day, Sidney Powell is reported to have visited Gitmo for two hours via another flight.
• Do you really think China shelled our $400,000,000 for Dominion and will take a casual la-dee-da attitude towards recouping on its investment!?
• We've known for years the Chinese military were massing down in Mexico and up around Vancouver Island.

There is no reason to burn up excess funds at the end of the calendar year. The government operates on a fiscal year, which I believe ended September 30th. Beginning Sept 1st or so is when they start looking for toys to buy to drain the surplus.

Been there, done that. One of our civilian Funds staff would park his RV next to the building for the last week of September so they could sleep in it after very long days closing out all the end of fiscal year work.

I get those calls all of the time from Aetna and never answer them. Why in the world would I want a health insurance company coming out to give me a health screening when I have a real doctor to do that?
