Lots more government lockdowns coming your way, just in time for Christmas! For your own good of course. But don’t worry, your government overlords are working overtime on the really important things. Like cannabis.

The House on Friday passed a comprehensive reform bill ending federal prohibitions on marijuana in a historic vote that marks the next significant step forward in the growing movement to legalize cannabis in the U.S.. The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act decriminalizes marijuana at the federal level and would remove marijuana from the list of federally controlled substances and expunge federal convictions for non-violent marijuana offenses.

Democrats claim this will reduce racial inequities in drug arrests but what it will actually do is reduce the number of people who actually give a crap about what our overlords are up to.

Effects of Weed on the Brain: Short-Term and Long-Term Impacts

Is it just me or is this not a large part of the ultimate Marxist dream?

You know, like going out to eat, to a movie, bowling, working out at the gym.

The government controlling everything: shutting down what they deem to be “unessential” businesses that serve to do nothing but give you a bit of pleasure, but on the other hand doling out all the cannabis you want to keep your brain potted and your actions compliant.

And if your government overlords let you have pot, and a handout to buy it with, who needs church services anyway?

If you want to see the progressive Democrats’ complete roadmap  by all means read Karl Marx’s works. It’s all in there. Or if you only have time for the Cliff Notes version, this pretty much sums it up:

Agreeing with decriminizing marijuana laws is to agree with Congresscritter Jerry Nadler!

He wears pants - you’d better stop.

So pleasure is good ... unless it’s cannabis?

I don’t think the issue is pleasure.

The types of venues and activities that are shut down have one thing in common - and it’s not pleasure:

Diners, restaurants, pubs, dance clubs, bowling alleys, churches, gyms, concert halls, pool halls, etc.. these are all places that working, middle class deplorables freely assemble and engage in public discourse, civil debate, and the exercise of our first amendment rights.

This exchange of ideas is essential to a self governing society. That is why civic planners like Benjamin Franklin and William Penn insisted that there be a public house (a pub) on every corner.

Hint: It was not about the beer. It was about the conversation. It was about freedom.

And that is exactly the kind of establishment being targeted.
