BREAKING: 76 of 141 Republican Representatives in PA Send Letter to Congress Asking Them to Reject State’s 20 Electors

On Friday, 76 of 141 Republican representatives in Pennsylvania sent a letter asking Congress asking them to reject the state’s 20 electors, appointed by Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf, who would be voting for Joe Biden. The representatives also asked for an independent prosecutor and a review of the agency that oversees elections.

The letter pointed to the fact that Governor Wolf has repeatedly undermined election protections in the state.

“For these reasons,” they wrote to the state’s Congressional delegation. “We the undersigned members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly urge you to object … to the Electoral College votes received from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”

The letter came after a memo was signed by members of the GOP establishment saying that “that state legislators had no authority to ignore certified election results and appoint Pennsylvania’s delegates to the Electoral College themselves.”

So these are the rank and file, back bench representatives, expressing their displeasure with their leadership who blocked this, I assume?

Yup. From the article:

Thanks. I saw that, but why would the original "memo signed by members of the GOP establishment" carry any more weight than this new "letter from 76 of 141 Republican Representatives" in way this one couldn't just supersede it, but sought an alternative path instead?

I'm guessing the original memo was from the Speaker of the State House, State Senate Majority leader, etc, but it's not clear. If it was the State Speaker, sounds like his job might not be safe now!

The pledge from the 65 RINO's carries more weight because they likely form a majority with the Democrats.

Yes, unless the original one was from “the office of the speaker of the house” or some other official capacity to speak for the chamber as a whole? That’s why I said the Speaker may be in trouble in the future for his position, if he put that out when the majority of the members feel otherwise, but it may officially speak for the chamber while out of session. Unfortunately Gateway Pundit didn’t get enough details into the article.

I just wrote my Michigan Legislator telling them that Plenary constitutional power is invested with the state legislator only to exercise that power to override any state law and / or state constitution. The power include to meet when they determine to void a fraud election and to name the electors.
This letter is just like I see happening in Michigan, it punts the can down the road to a congress that will do nothing. My plea to those closest to the people, you state legislators who have the oversight and power to get it right when there is fraud. Senator Doug Mastriano, where is that Gettysburg spirit I saw there other day? Where is the spirit of God given power to stand like I saw in you just a few days ago? May God give it to you in Jesus Name!

Yes, you are correct about one state, one vote. If that was the reason for the letter then I would withdraw my comments,

But as it relates to the PA GOP deciding to select GOP electors I don’t believe Congress has a role.

Yet another example of how republicans can never seem to do things as a team. What about the rest of them?

They don’t have to send any letter. They have complete authority to take over and do the right thing.

Both of my representatives signed the letter. Probably just did it to keep their constituents off their backs. My county was one of the 59 in Pennsylvania that voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump.

Think of all of the folks in my state who are dependent on the natural gas and coal and energy industry for their livelihoods. A giant cracker plant is being constructed in the northwestern part of the state, supposedly the largest construction project in the country. This will employ thousands. And their jobs are now in danger because of illegal voting in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia courtesy of the Democrat party and the useful idiots who vote with it. People are not going to accept this. Rage must be building all across Pennsylvania.

Remember the heroes of Valley Forge, remember the heroes of Constitution Hall, remember the heroes of Gettysburg, remember the heroes of Flight 93 who brought that plane down in a field not far from where I live? They’re turning over in their graves right now. They’re demanding that we don’t surrender ever.

“You are 100 % correct. Reading some of these comments are as bad as watching mainstream media. Our founding fathers never gave up and neither should we.”

Amen! The abject defeatism around here makes me CRAZY. Have we learned NOTHING from President Trump? Yeesh!

From here on out, I’m not even going to respond to questions direct to me that are defeatist. :)
