As I recall, the GA Supreme Court did not formally rule on the merits of the case. It let the Appeals Court decision stand because it found there were no procedural errors, no errors of fact, and no constitutional issues involved. As I wrote in another post, it is very difficult to win a libel case in court. The deck is stacked against the plaintiff in the US, unlike in the UK.
