I think the Dominion map mis-states. For example, a large city could have Dominion, but other parts of the same state could have another voting system.

That is the case but it doesn’t matter. Dominion or its cousins have the large cities under control where the shenanigans can overwhelm the towns in less populated ergions in those states.
But they did try and market to mid-size towns nonetheless. They were nearly on track to turning Texas blue but Texans were smart enough to see their machines were not secure and ended up rejecting their offer. But some parts of Texas did get machines, just not enough to make the difference.
