The AmCons Frankfurt is in very large nearly bomb proof buildings. If this happened near the IPC a flash message would gone out.... If this was in a safe house or commercial place it might be out of the city. There is a large army and airforce presence in this area... gunfire might sound routine.
I am a few miles from Ft. Bragg and hear continuous gunfire when not in DC area.

If indeed 5 us military died in the assault, the families would have been heard from and the soldiers honored. (We are given the names of those who die in training accidents..I would think combat deaths would be announced as well).
