I think it’s silly to pretend that the taint of what ever idea or behavior you’re talking about can be avoided by substituting alternate symbols without hiding in any way the word’s meaning or the behavior it describes. For example, if I called you a dip$hit, would you or anybody else not know what word I was using? Pedophilia is a word that refers to awful acts, but the word itself and the letters that compose it, are not themselves evil. Why the first ‘i’ and not the second? Or one of the ‘p’s, or some other letter? Are you a letterist?
