There was a mixed crowd at the event. He wondered if theyd do the classic speed dating style of interviews. That was always a frustrating waste of time, since the system catered to extroverts and he was an introvert. Well be starting in a couple of minutes. Just remember to be yourself. And give feedback on the app after every session. Jensen nodded silently given the mouthful of grapes. Be yourself is such tripe advice, but it couldnt get worse that trying to fake being perfect by the ever-changing standards of the ideal man.
....
I guess I dont need to tell you about myself, Jensen said. So do I move or do you move?
Im deciding whether or not I need to break your biases, she said.

“Be yourself is such tripe advice...”
Thank you, ‘tbw2’ for posting this Tamara Wilhite short, as I would not have read it otherwise. I’m going to look her up on Amazon to see her other efforts. IMHO, she has written a fine and CONTEMPORARY intro to how Harrison Bergeron could come about in 61 years! Excellent!
“Diversity” is Diana Moon Glampers in the US.
Here is an article from "The Advocate" Magazine (gay advocacy) that argues that failing to date a transgender is 'transphobic'! And then there is this headline from "The Western Journal"; "Study Claims Transgenders Suffering Because Straight People Aren't Dating Them" with a sub-headline of "Transgenders Dying Because Straight People Won't Date Them"! The two published researchers of the last obviously feel that there needs to be a remedy for such bias!

I remember a Shel Silverstein cartoon in which a gay person is saying something to the effect that “homosexuality was once a felony, then it became a misdemeanor, then it was accepted, and I for one won’t be satisfied until it’s mandatory!”
Those weren’t the exact words, but it was a long time ago. Not so funny now...
I am old enough to remember the Memorex Cassette commercial; "Is it live or is it Memorex?" Now I worry that what is satire from the Onion or the Babylon Bee today is prophecy almost the next day!
Her statements on equality of outcome reminded me of it, too.
