I have been looking for an alternative to Facebook from the beginning. I never subscribed to Facebook, though my family has. I disagree with the policies, deception, censorship, advertising policy, etc. BUT I see the value in friends, family and general society connections.
I just heard of WeMe.com. Seems interesting. Does anyone have any experience with this service?
We need to dump Facebook, and to do this we need an alternative. Is WeMe that alternative?

Nn direct experience although a relative & I (wanting badly to get off of Fakebook), took a look at it & I think it’s a viable alternative ..... except, you have to have the rest of the family switch as well. The one consistent comment I saw was that it’s a “lonely place” until you can find people on it or get others to join you.
I ONLY have family for “friends” on Fakebook ... I’m ready to “be gone” except for a couple of little grandnieces that are growing up & the only way I can watch that is to see what their mom posts on Fakebook.
I just joined today, ironically enough. It’s more or less the same as FB, but without as many bells and whistles, which is fine by me.
The problem is that everyone is already on FB, but if you can bring your core tribe to the new platform, its probably worth it.
Anything that can give Facebook a challenge is AOK in my book.
My circle of friends are moving to Parler. Looks pretty good so far.
I just created my account there and gave a farewell message to my friends on Facebook.
MeWe is fine, it’s a Facebook alternative without the censorship....so far anyway...
I belong to a private groups on Facebook that has recently gone over to MeWe, the private group was established on Facebook as a place where hard core conservatives could gather and talk about anything, where off color and political incorrect comments were welcomed and encouraged.
Leading up to the election, just about everyone in the group seemed to get suspended by Facebook for various time periods often for posts they had made months prior....daily someone would post that several more people had been sent to Facebook jail......
Now most everyone is over on MeWe and so far the political incorrectness and off color jokes have gone to a new level to everyone’s enjoyment and no censorship has happened.....
Do you like it? I am finding Parler not really user friendly but want to leave Facebook.
I got in MeWe earlier this year because I listen to a podcast called WeLikeShooting. They had a FB members only page that was hilarious, but FB started their crap again. They’ve transitioned to a MeWe page now. It’s pretty good.

Facebook is just garbage. Pure garbage. It censors any content that doesn’t exactly fit its world outlook. The other day a friend of mine posed a question on Facebook: ‘Could the 2020 election results be bogus?’ It wasn’t a statement. It was just a question. Boom! That post got pulled by Facebook.
Now here’s the problem. Most of my friends - and all of my relatives - are on Facebook. So if I left Facebook, I would be cutting myself off from those I love. Is it worth it? As of now, I would have to say no. But if Facebook gets even more tyrannical, who knows?
