Of course, that says a lot about the respect I have for Bobby Orr as an Athlete, a celebrity, and from what I can glean, him as a person. And I know I am not alone in this.
It is like having a highly respected uncle, co-worker, or friend reveal to you that they are voting for the same candidate you support.

I knew you were working in New England, but I wasn’t quite sure if you grew up there.
I think it’s unlikely Orr would come out for Trump. But he probably views the craziness of the Left as too much to tolerate. He had to speak out.

Personally, I could CARE LESS who certain sports figures or celebrities support.
Well, I guess my exuberance was a bit over the top. But NH was a very close call in 2016. So it will likely be close again so that every little bit helps.
But I’m no election expert, just a FReeper schmoe who loves Trump and Bobby Awe.
Perhaps POTUS DJT will nominate Bobby to be the Czar of the “Big Sticks”
Lord knows, Bobby, though not in his prime, certainly is experienced in how to use them and this next term our President will be requiring a good many.
I used to be a hockey nut, moving to this area just in time to see Orr play his last few years in Boston, and beginning my introduction to hockey at the tender age of sixteen...having never skated, they made me a goalie for their street hockey games, and eventually I learned to skate and got to play in mens leagues for about fifteen years after I got out of the Navy.
All my friends were hockey nuts, and we would watch up to four games a week during the regular season, and all the playoff games.
Heh, the most fun I had was when the Bruins finally bet the Habs to advance in the Playoffs...me and a few other people drove in to be part of the crowd when they arrived in Boston...and I still made it into work at 05:30...:)

In the Nineties, the game got too irritating for me to watch, with all the clutching, grabbing, and slowdown of the game.
I tried watching again recently, since the rules changes made it a faster game, but I just don’t have time for it anymore. How I do miss those days of being immersed in it.
Even today, even with his support of Trump, there are a lot of people who simply won’t repudiate Orr for his support of Trump, but I know personally of one person who did.
Sad. But that guy was a lost case anyway. Total MoonBat.

Yeah, you’re right, Steven. But when you meet the relatives at Thanksgiving, you can grin and say, “You know, that Bobby Orr was always a smart athlete.”
I stopped going to my relatives for Thanksgiving years ago when my brother dictated that I could not talk about politics. I now go to the only bar open on Thanksgiving day, a dive bar, where I watch the Lions game. They put out a free turkey dinner spread that is better than anything he made.
Yes, I can say from much experience that they are mostly hard, lost souls. You can tell a lot about people and an area in how they respond to the simple offer of a basic evangelical gospel tract. In the 80's and 90's passing them out in Park street or Gov. Center upstairs to those on the Green line C train, which stops at Copley and heads to BC stood in much contrast to the lower income people taking the Gov. Center Blue Line downstairs out to East Boston and Revere and towards Chelsea. But all souls need Jesus.
In a way my wife and I did the same thing. We moved down to Georgia and you’re not even expected for Thanksgiving.
