Rep. Ilhan Omar, in an interview with Axios, said that progressives are waiting to fill Joe Biden’s cabinet and will push him to “act accordingly” on several policies including banning fracking.
Omar’s comments are another in a long string from members of the ‘Squad’ – a more radical faction in the Democrat party – that they intend to push Biden to do their bidding should he win the election.
The Minnesota Democrat believes “all of the cabinet positions should be filled by progressive Democrats.”
She then ticked off a litany of policies that other Democrat presidential candidates supported but were seemingly too much for voters to swallow as they shifted towards Biden.
“A president is only as successful as his collaboration is with Congress,” Omar explained.
“And we will have a cohort of progressives that are very clear about their objectives for wanting the implementation of, you know, Medicare For All and a Green New Deal and raising the minimum wage and not allowing for fracking,” she continued.

IIRC, when Obama picked Biden as his running mate, it was pointed out that Biden was one of the most lib Senators, if not THE most lib Senator, at the time.

The difference between radical left congress people including “the squad” versus the ones that won as tea party candidates: ALL of the radical left ones meant every word and are fighting (and winning) to force their party to the hard left. 80% of the ones who went to congress as ‘tea party conservatives’ were lying about it. Jeff Flake, Marco Rubio, so many others that just used us all to get in but never had any intention of governing with a hint of conservatism. It’s what caused the tea party to fizzle out, collectively the movement had a lot of success in elections and most of the winners turned out to be globalist GOPe hacks.

Lacy Johnson, the Republican challenger to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn), complains that “Rep. Omar has been dodging all of my requests to engage in a debate to help voters view both candidates answering questions about the policies they support and how they will affect Minnesotans. She is one of only two holdouts among the state’s eight-member congressional delegation—both of them Democrats—who have refused to participate in a debate.”
Omar brushed off Johnson’s complaint, calling it “the mewling whining of a loser. The fact is that our campaign has discovered that debates are an inefficient method for interacting with voters. We have found that a simple offer of cash in exchange for each vote bypasses the meaningless chit-chat that occurs in debates and gives voters a real and more substantial reason to support my reelection.”
In late September Project Veritas released an undercover video showing a ballot harvester for Omar’s campaign offering $200 to a voter in exchange for his absentee ballot. The ballot harvester explained that “the honest purchase of votes is very popular among the thousands of Somali immigrants in Rep. Omar’s district.” He went on to justify the clearly illegal scheme on the grounds that “reelecting Rep. Omar is our only defense against Jews taking over the world.”
