Ours looks like one. Don’t know his story.

You need to read the thread. She does not want to deal with the dependency of a dog to go outside in winters.

As for dogs, I love the,...at least German Shepherds. But it’s dogs who will rip a person to shreds, not so loving and loyal, eh?

And cats can be trained. Those who aren’t, are the cats who rip up things and potty all over, and get on counters, etc. Discipline, as with dogs.

I lived on allergy pills when we got married. No cats now..just the dog that used to herd them. (For real!)

A divorce would be better for his health.

My husband is very allergic to cats, and we have five. He takes OTC allergy meds, and wouldn’t give up the cats for anything.

Out send a couple years ago I read there might be a shot cats can get that reduces the problem.

I had cat when I married my husband, and he was very allergic. We made a deal to try allergy shots, and if they didn’t work I would give the cat to my sister.

That was 28 years ago, and we have cats ever since. He actually likes the cat better then our dogs.

Cats have us very well trained. In fact, I have read that cats only meow to humans (not to other cats) because they know we will respond and give them attention.

I know a veterinary technician with allergies. She has four cats and bathes them every two weeks. For what it’s worth, the Rex kitties I have met were absolute sweethearts.

Getting rid of carpet in favor of hard floors and laundering linens frequently helps. Any well-maintained veterinary clinic will have a similar enviornment, or it risks spreading disease between its patients.

Try a foster program? Temporarily care for a cat or litter of kittens with the understanding that they’ll be going to new homes within a short period. Volunteering at an animal shelter may also test the severity of allergies.

Why would you want to have a cat? It seems like God is telling you don’t do that.

Get a cat and teach it to sleep on your husbands face so that he will get use to it sooner rather than later.

Your list of questions and concerns should be addressed to your husband.

Late to the thread, sorry.

I am allergic to cats, or at least some of them. We currently have two cats, and one of them causes me to to itch when he is near my face or I pet him around his face and don’t wash my hands soon enough before touching my own.

I took allergy shots 25 years ago for cats and all sorts of environmental allergies. It has waned a little since then, but I can take Allegra or Zyrtec and do fine. Even if I have forgotten, and start with the itchies, taking the OTC medicine helps within 20 minutes.

My other cat rarely bothers me. I can cuddle him and it’s no big deal.

They are both long haired cats, both are rescues. Feel free to ask any more questions.

our cats really love FROMM brand dry food and their coats are soft, thick and glossy. Agreed on blue buffalo and nutrish; both are garbage. they spray a scent on them to make them smell more like meat but they’re junk.
