Police in Philadelphia shot and killed a man on Monday, triggering protests that saw at least 30 officers injured, officials said.
Police said they shot Walter Wallace Jr., 27, after responding to a call about a man armed with a knife.
The responding officers ordered Wallace several times to drop the knife and he continued to advance towards them, according to a statement. They then fired their weapons, shooting him in the chest and shoulder, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital just after 4 p.m., the statement added.
Both officers were taken off street duty pending an investigation, the Inquirer said. Their names werent released.
Protesters gathered outside a Philadelphia police precinct Monday night hours after police shot and killed a man waving a knife in the afternoon, CBS Philly reports. The victim was identified as 27-year old Walter Wallace Jr.
Tensions rose as the night wore on.
Early Tuesday, a pickup truck driving at a relatively fast clip hit an officer. Video shows a man standing through the roof of the trucks cab. A bystander can be heard saying, Oh my god. He hit a cop.

And at one point it got so violent the mob chased the police down the street.

Philadelphia Police Sergeant Eric Gripp said the officer, a 56-year-old female, was hospitalized in stable condition with a broken leg and other injuries. The pickup was found nearby, unoccupied, he added.
Vandals smashed windows and a glass door and spray-painted walls at a police substation.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, there was vandalism and looting in a commercial corridor where police and demonstrators clashed earlier this summer. Video below:
So according to Biden, this is just an idea and according to Michele Obama, these are peaceful protests?
The problem is that the cops don’t kill enough of them, and of the right ones. Pick off the leaders of looting and rioting and the rest will melt away.
