Violating their warning could cause financial ruin when the IRS starts knocking on your door. I would also allow anyone wishing to declare themselves to be part of this new nation to do so, but offer them with a 10-year visa. This would prevent them from voting in the US, even if they continued to live here during that time.

I agree it will not change the goal of the hardened radical Left. But people willing to do anything to achieve their goal, still want to achieve their goal.
Consider when the Left was using the KKK to terrorize people rather than Antifa and BLM. Between now and then there has been a relative time of calm (with some exceptions such as the Weather Underground). While I am not a historian, the fact that the KKK is so despised now that the Left has even tried to revise history to identify it as Right wing gives me hope. Not because the Left is telling viscous lies (they always do that) but because the Left was checked in its violence because it had gone too far and the good prevailed in discrediting them and forcing them to come up with new lies and eventually new excuses for violence.
