After telling Variety that shes contemplating leaving the United States if President Donald Trump wins re-election, rocker Stevie Nicks says there wouldnt have been a Fleetwood Mac if she had not had an abortion.
If I had not had that abortion, Im pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac, said Nick in a recent interview with The Guardian. The singer ended her unborn childs life in 1979 while she was dating Don Henley of The Eagles. Theres just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly. And there were a lot of drugs, I was doing a lot of drugs I would have had to walk away.
Besides, Nicks felt that the music we were going to bring to the world was much more important than the life of her own flesh and blood.
And I knew that the music we were going to bring to the world was going to heal so many peoples hearts and make people so happy, she said. And I thought: you know what? Thats really important. Theres not another band in the world that has two lead women singers, two lead women writers. That was my worlds mission.
The rocker jumped into the presidential election last week, telling Variety in an interview to promote her new single Show Them the Way that shes thinking: Oh, space if Trump wins. Maybe I can talk Elon Musk into giving us a jet and letting me pick 50 people. Nicks is not the only celebrity elite to suggest that she wouldnt have been able to figure out how to be successful in her career if she had started a family.

Sold her should for rock and roll? Yeah, that makes sense.
The world would have been fine without Fleetwood Mack.
if you hadn’t had an abortion, a child would have lived and be a likely productive part of society right now-
Sorry but your ‘justification’ sucks Stevie! It’s murder- and one day the ultimate judge, God, will inform you so!
Her kid would have sure been better off. At least in a worldly sense.
If Stevie’s mom had aborted her there would have been no Fleetwood Mac.
Would Stevie have been glad she was aborted?
By 1979, the salad days were behind you.
“Oh well”
[[And I knew that the music we were going to bring to the world was going to heal so many peoples hearts and make people so happy,]]
So by this asinine selfish reasoning- someone taking care of their parents say, their responsibility- would be doing the world a big favor to have them euthanized because they couldn’t take time out to care for them OR AT LEAST seek out care for them, a home for them, and it might cramp your lifestyle and impact your potential?
Actually, there was a Fleetwood Mac - the original blues/rock lineup - before she even joined the band. And it’s hard to believe that a wealthy rock star couldn’t afford child care for that aborted baby had that baby been allowed to live.
Just when you thought these cretins couldn’t get any more selfish and evil.
Great point.
Tell that to Peter Green. She joined a band already in progress.
So, Stevie... Let me ask you? When you’re alone at night staring at the ceiling and wondering what the child’s unique personality would have been like, do you wonder? When you wonder what their laugh may have sounded like, do you still insist on being justified? We all know the answer to that. And, I’m sorry that it has made you such a hateful person. Just...please, for your sake, just ask forgiveness.
She was part of arena Mac phase The classic bluesy rock days were much better in my opinion. But that’s just me
What a horrid, miserable woman
Theres a reason shell die alone
I simply no longer imagine that they cannot get worse.
I lack the imagination to anticipate what fresh new horrors those in a Romans 1:18-32 free-fall may come up with.
Ive met hundreds of women who wonder. What if ? One particularly lit a candle every year when her due date was
Its very very sad. Very sad. Killing your baby.
She sacrificed a child she willingly conceived (she does know how babies are made, right?), so she could keep doing drugs and churn out the dreck she calls music. They “healed the world”, huh? I wonder if she realizes how pathetic she sounds?
Can never listen to them in the same way.
