SHOCKER: ABC’s Jonathan Karl Fact-Checks Biden Campaign on Taxes
NewsBusters ^ | 10/13/2020 | Joseph Vazquez

Insufferable ABC News chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl actually took the time to fact-check a claim by Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden that “[n]obody making under $400,000 bucks would have their taxes raised” under his proposed tax plan.

Talk about a twilight-zone moment.

During the October 11, edition of ABC This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Karl grilled Biden campaign co-chair Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA) on Biden’s promises to only raise taxes on the rich. Karl questioned: “[Biden] has said that he will not raise taxes on anybody making less than $400,000 a year. But the analysis put forward by the Tax Policy Center [TPC] shows that, in fact, middle-income earners between — making between $50,000-$90,000 a year — will see an increase of $260. Is he wrong about this?” Karl continued: “It looks like there will be at least some increase for middle-income earners under his tax plan.”

Karl, you are a lying swine. Everyone will get a tax cut of $200,000 per year. And you will soon be out of a job, dog!

More importantly, Biden’s proposals will reduce INCOME. All those Trump jobs created by the tax cut and killed by Covid won’t have a prayer of coming back.

You have to go all the way back to JFK to find a Democrat that wanted and actually cut taxes. You can go all the way back to the beginning of time and not find a Republican that cut spending, specifically spend less money in real dollars than the previous year.

We need a complete overhaul on the tax code and an itty bitty bit of a cut on federal spending, perhaps 60 to 70%. Throw these lifelong deep state bastards on the street.

Increasing the tax burden on many small businesses will result in less jobs and/or less business growth. An anti-stimulus speed bump. All that will result in less tax revenues. These leftist ideologues never learn from past history nor facts. It’s purely class warfare tripe for their Big Government tyrannical agendas and facts be damned.

Biden’s going to give Americans a 100% tax cut!!!!

Of course, he’s also go to give you a 100% wage cut, but let’s not focus on that...

" ... he will not raise taxes on anybody making less than $400,000 a year"

Then he says he will "roll back the Trump tax cuts". Perhaps this can be construed in a dem alternate universe as not 'raising taxes', but it means you will pay more tax. Capital gains taxes will go up to 40%, and corporate taxes will go from 21% to 28%. Biden is counting on [his] voters to be so naive or stupid as not to see this is a tax increase that hits EVERYONE! But of course he has to pay for all the "free" stuff to the foreign invaders (illegal aliens).

You’ll be surprised to know that Karl actually brought that up during his grilling of the Biden campaign.

“ You can go all the way back to the beginning of time and not find a Republican that cut spending, specifically spend less money in real dollars than the previous year.”

Not true.

“ The thirtieth president was a rare treasure; a politician who didn’t just talk the talk, but actually walked the walk when it came to fiscal discipline. In 1923, the year Calvin Coolidge entered the White House, the Federal Government spent $3.14 billion. By 1928, his last full year in office, the Feds spent $2.96 billion. Calvin Coolidge, a president who left office more than eighty years ago, is the last chief executive to have cut the size of government.”
