It’s angle, lighting and makeup or lack thereof.
I just watched the whole Erie speech on youtube (treamed live on Oct 10, 2020). He looked nothing like that photo. He walks out alone with his mask on, takes the mask off at the podium and fondles it, touches his nose with his hands... The videographer didn’t once show the “crowd.” No clapping or other noise from the audience during the speech. The clapping at the end sounded like there were about five people there.

They did their hair and makeup on the ferry. It often surprises me how little FR men understand the power of hair and makeup!! Makes a world of difference. Can make virtually any woman look good.

On a different note, Slow Joe’s “Build Back Better” slogan is so weak compared to Trump’s MAGA. “Build Back Better” sounds like something you’d try to get someone to say three times fast.
