I’m curious, who do you think is better?
Joe Biden theme song?
I saw them at the Spectrum in the 80s. I caught them at Wells Fargo in 2012 and they played it again. It still rocked. RIP.
A band that without question sucked.
Why? Was it messing with your Boy George and Culture Club, Cindy Laper and Flock of Seagulls?
Rick Beato posted a YouTube video about Eddie’s passing. Also checked out his Why This Song is Great videos for Runnin’ With The Devil and others.
Genesis and/or Rush fan...maybe King Crimson. I like them also but Proggers seem to be dismissive. Dave was a buffoon...but was still fun and the band had a great presence for the times. Now we have Taylor Swift.
Van Hagar was a crime against nature. Lol.
“Im curious, who do you think is better?”
Not Rush. Not Styx.
VH was super kitsch.
Guitar riff is amazing...
The opening of Mean Street and the riff is just amazing. To me, Fair Warning and their debut are their best. Loved both versions of VH, too. Balance is truly an underrated album.
Yes. Alex coming in on that awesome riff is just perfect. Not sure the last time I didn’t rewind to the beginning at least twice to hear it before letting the song play out.
That's the other thing about VH, really the first hard rock band that got the girls to listen. I mean really, how many girls back then were into bands like Sabbath or Zeppelin?
I got the impression that one of the reasons EVH got rid of Dave is that he wanted to move on from songs like “Hot For Teacher”. I mean he was right around 30 then, kind of silly to be doing songs like “Beautiful Girls”, by the time you’re married and have kids.
Same here, Gator. Same here.

Diamond Dave is overrated
True.
But Sammy could never do Ice Cream Man like Dave.
One of my favorites. Best Dave song of the collection.

Saw an interesting quote from Pat Metheny on EVH:
One time, I got to go back before a show and hear him warm up - which was absolutely mind blowing - he played more incredible music in that 30 minutes of warmup time than he did in the all the VH “shows” that I heard rolled together.
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
That is a great graphic.
I love watchu talkin about Willis?
Anyhow, I’m talking about a band that sucks.
