Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, pointed out Monday evening that some coronavirus patients experience a “reversal” after they start to feel better.
“He looks fine as you can see the way he looked when he came out of the hospital,” Fauci told CNN’s Chris Cuomo.
“The issue is that he’s still early enough in the disease that it’s no secret that if you look at the clinical course of people sometimes, when you’re five to eight days in, you can have a reversal. A reversal meaning going in the wrong direction and getting into trouble.”

Yes, it is (in general). COVID does go bad near then end of the 14 days. But Fauci needs to not be commenting on a patient’s situation and especially one that he’s not seeing or treating.

Well you have a lot more confidence in the CDC than I do. But I hope that is right. I pray it is. I’m going by what doctors have said regarding multiple cases and how the timeline with covid-19 went. The PM of UK is one of many examples.

This is the correct response. Fauci should shut the hell up. The only time you comment on a patient is when it is your patient and you have the patient’s permission.

I know. My questions were more rhetorical than anything.
You’re confusing mild cases with severe cases. Show me one story where a mild case had a flare up 10 days after symptoms. I looked there are none.
Or, he could develop super powers and be able to fly and see through walls.
But what was not being stressed is that for 95 percent of all cases of folks who are over the age of 70 who do get the virus, those folks won’t get the “crash” in the last 3 days. They just recover. Trump has no co-morbidities other that being a little overweight.
Fauci should have stressed that point but instead he decided to ratchet up the fear porn or the news source selectively parsed Fauci’s remarks...or both!
It might be better money spent if these labs would develop multivalent heuristic supervaccines...vaccines given so that no matter what sort of bioweapons are sent our way, the supervaccines will counter them by active real time adaptations. The need for germ warfare programs would then be rendered moot! We are near the realm of the nanotech revolution in disease treatments anyway so I believe such vaccines may be possible. It would be money well spent if such medicines were developed proactively.
Until then I guess we have the world we have to live in;...cheers! and drink(!) to each others’ health, then let us don our useless placebo masks and step out into the haze and fog of destiny!
Out of every 100 cases of those over 70 who get the virus, 10 to 15 persons may be expected to sick enough to be hospitalized and 5 of those cases may be expected to be fatal. About 90 percent who die will have had pre-existing co-morbidities that exacerbate and contribute to their deaths.
Trump has not had a crash and die and he has a 95 percent chance that he won’t. Perhaps he has an even better chance that he won’t due to his excellent health.
