Back in August, when a Facebook trusted fact-checker incorrectly marked an article by Rachel Malone as false, I felt compelled to do something about it.
The article in question laid out a strong case that Kamala Harris was the worst nightmare for gun owners. Freedom loving Americans shared the story across multiple Facebook groups run by Gun Owners of America. But Agence France-Presse (AFP) decided in their sole wisdom that the article was false and restricted the groups for sharing fake news.
Facebook placed an overlay on Malones Houston Courant article with a link to the AFP fact-check. Not only did this overlay rob the news site of valuable traffic, but it also slandered the news sites reputation, which could hurt its credibility with the public.
When I clicked on the overlay, it directed me to the AFP article, which tried to say Harris wasnt anti-gun. Clearly, this conclusion was insane. During the District of Columbia v. Heller case, Harris signed onto and wrote part of an amicus brief that argued that there wasnt an individual right to bear arms under the Second Amendment. SCOTUS outright rejected this absurd opinion.
Harris never recanted her assertion about the Second Amendment. In fact, as the Attorney General of California, she helped turn the Golden State into the most anti-gun state in the Union. The far-left Democrat went on to push draconian gun laws that violate the rights of the people. She also vowed to be a hardliner when it comes to banning firearms nationwide. To say Malones assertion that Harris is a gun owners worse nightmare isnt a stretch.
