Yeah I that's probably the thinking. If righties have their judge too early they may just get lazy. If they schedule a vote on Oct 29 it probably gets delayed due to dem chicanery which will be emphasized by Trump, spans the election, and angry but sometimes lazy righties won't be lazy, but they'll be angry.

It’s just tying up the committee, not the full senate. So what’s gained by that? If it doesn’t even get to the floor until 10/29 that gives the Democrats a chance to concoct some kind of delay B.S. until after the election, and then they’ll really start the chaos. Something isn’t right about this.
If they don't know already, they will NEVER know. Why would Senate Republicans take such a risk with the Supreme Court?
I wonder if the Republican leadership doesn’t really want to overturn Roe V Wade, so they set the vote late, just before the election, that way they only have to do one delay till after the election, and if Trump loses, they don’t have to confirm at all.

The Democrats already know if another Kavanaugh Clown Show will be well received by the voters. If the answer is that it will hurt Democrats, they will make a few token show attacks and then be as meek as little lambs.
From the traffic that I’ve seen today, I think that the Democrats know that that approach would be a train wreck. They seem to be saying that Barrett will be fair and call balls and strikes, nothing more.
