This attempt at impeachment will be even more groundless than the first.

And just as politically motivated.

They could not POSSIBLY organize an impeachment effort with sufficient speed and plausibility to fit it in until well after the inauguration of Trump for a second term.

A hearing before the Senate Judiciary committee, and vote in the Senate, would all happen so much faster than any action by the House of Representatives.

Which may not even look the same after Election day, 2020.

Sure they could. Since it has no merit they don't need hearings or evidence, just a vote.

Is the following scenario possible?

Trump wins the election.
Pelosi gets the House to impeach Trump in November after the election. The new Senate gets sworn in January 3rd. Can the next Senate act on the House’s impeachment?

If yes, would it be effective on Jan 23rd, if he wins the election?
