In our past, settlers in the land built their cabins with firing ports cut into doors and shutters and kept their weapons hung over the door, loaded and ready. It’s looking more and more like those accouterments for the home, and degree of readiness will be coming back into style, unfortunately.

Green jello with carrots and marshmallows. Yes. It is as hideous as it appears, but is a popular Mormon “delicacy”. No funeral or wedding is complete without it.

No wait, that’s cottage cheese not marshmallows. Not that it makes any difference.

Have you ever had Jambalaya?
To: amorphous
Oh yes. It’s much closer to Jesus than green jello salad.

Lol! I’ve never had green jello salad... But I’ll take your word on it.
To: amorphous
I love okra. I make Gumbo a lot more then jambalaya.

Not sure what that is. It is most definitely NOT jambalaya.
To: GranTorino
So do I. I like it almost any way you can fix it... Try adding it to the jambalaya, I do. As for gumbo, I like it equally as well as jambalaya. The problem with okra is it's hard to find good fresh okra in the stores. You can grow it yourself, but then it's a seasonal thing. We buy freeze-dried okra, and it's then simply a matter of going to the pantry for okra to add to whatever recipe we're cooking. I'm glad to meet a fellow okra fan! :)

My friends have more okra then they know what to do with. Three big plants that are 6’ tall. Pretty good for ohio.
I’m in heaven.
