“ In other words, Joe will be reading off a monitor. ”

I’m guessing that this will be the show stopper. Biden’s handlers will insist on teleprompters and Trump’s will say no. I heard this morning that Rudy Giuliani is handling negotiations for Trump. No way Rudy will approve use of teleprompters.

.The physical and mental strain of high-level public speaking and debates can be arduous, even debilitating. For seniors especially, constant levels of high stress can cause dangerous and lasting effects, including high blood pressure, weakened immune system, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and an increased risk for heart disease. If the Democrats want a healthy Joe Biden in 2021 and beyond, they would be wise to have him skip the debates and all the preparation they require.

It’s been said before by many others, but, the presidency is the toughest job in the world.

And it’s been said before, to paraphrase, that if a presidential candidate can’t handle a debate, how is he/she going to handle the 3 a.m. phone call and various crises which will certainly happen during the term in office?

If Joe can’t handle all this, then why in the heck is he running for president?

The authors accounting of how his stage performances drained him physically and mentally made it clear to me—with hours of memorized lines, actions, expressions, emotions—that Biden can not withstand it for much longer.

He said he felt like he’d run a marathon after every performance. That’s what its like for Joe. It drains his battery during a stretch when there’s no time to recharge.

They know it, and keep him hidden. Hidey & Ho.

Maybe Trump should offer to debate the Libertarian candidatae Jo Jorgenson or whatever her name is.

Not a good idea. She could probably do a decent job and convince some people who do not like Biden or Trump but who would have voted Trump to vote for her.

It would be better for Trump to debate a stand-in for Biden or for him to just take questions from viewers for two hours straight.

It is interesting to see the reactions and speculation and I have done it also.

However, when you really stop and think about this it is crazy and even insulting that one of our two major parties has nominated a person that even their own partisans do not feel capable of a simple “off the cuff” debate.

This is insane. Read foreign media and even they are saying that Biden is simply not up to this. I cannot think of a more difficult job than President of the US. I cannot think of a more consequential job in the world. It is intense from endless speaking engagements, appearances, pressers, meetings, and decisions.

Yet, here we are. Few believe he has the stamina and mental acuity for a 1 hour appearance, much less a 10 or 12 hour work-day.

Yes I remember that Carter said it was unfair for him to debate “Two Republicans”, so he refused to debate Reagan and Anderson at that debate. So Reagan and Anderson had their own debate.

The debates will be reduced to....each candidate will submit a question to his opponent and opponent will be given 5 minutes to respond.
total of 20 questions.

All questions will be submitted two weeks prior to the “debate”.

I like this except for the last part...I think the questions should be off the cuff...Asked by the candidate at the minute...No submissions or warnings...

Lets hope Joe Hidens teleprompter works when China invades.

Perhaps he can ask Xi for a timeout if the stress is too much...

Biden will debate, the expectations for his performance will be low, the MSM will report Biden far exceeded expectations, no matter how lousy he does.

They already have their “planned” excuse. Had it from the jump!

Biden was NEVER going to debate, how could he?

there is a debate and Joe is struggling to keep afloat, what if Trump says “Out of sympathy for Joe Biden I refuse to continue this debate. It is elder abuse and I won’t do it. I have compassion for him.” Something like that. What would the response be?

Personally, I think it would be weak. But I also think that may be the strategy should Biden actually be allowed to debate. Snowflakes and soccer moms would be mad at The Big Mean President Bully.

If he can’t even show up to debate, the Democrat’s propaganda arm, the MSM can try to spin that any way they want but it will definitely hurt Biden a lot.

I like the idea of Trump doing two hours of questions from ordinary people. Hand-picked Trump supporters of course, because that's exactly what the Democrats do with their town halls.

What's good for the goose...

Actor James Woods predicted Joe Biden is going to "come down" with Covid and will be
quarantined for 6 weeks, thereby missing the debates. He will then emerge completely "cured."

I believe everything Woods says......after all, he bought Apple when it was $6 bucks a share.

BTW....when Biden reappears, he will be more lucid and loquacious than ever....cackle.

No debates, waiting for the bait and switch, there will be a last minute candidate switch. Little time to do any opposition research etc.It might even be Jill or even MO. Just imagine if they propped up MO at the last minute. Talk about get out the vote.

Yep. Unless he so loses his train of thought that he cannot even speak - then soils himself live on stage, the MSM will claim he won and “exceeded expectations”.
