Pointing out errors not supported by Scripture isn't mocking but more like a correction. There is a difference between Mother of Jesus and Mother of God. God has no mother. The human side of Jesus did, the divine side did not. All of the wildly absurd attributes ascribed to Mary by the RCC gets what derision they deserve. Mary deserves to be honored but recognized she needed a Savior just like everyone else.

I use mock loosely.

What I mean ultimately is people casting stones that Catholics are some kind of evil for venerating someone who was holy.

Sorry, but in all the threads I’ve seen over many years, that’s exactly my read. Some mocking, much condemnation as if they need execution. It really gets “evil”, and sorry, I see no need for that.

There is a difference between Mother of Jesus and Mother of God. God has no mother. The human side of Jesus did, the divine side did not.

And yet, the humanity and divinity of Jesus are one and the same person. They can't simply be separated as needed.

You would agree that you have a soul, yes? The essence of who you are? Your mother didn't create that - she gave birth to your body, which is yet still intertwined with your soul. You call her mother, not just "woman who birthed my body", correct?
