Council member Phyllis Cleveland said she is concerned that police are not adequately responding to block parties and gatherings that have led to disturbances across the city.

Wow, are these people dumb as a box of rocks.
Cops who do show up and stop the stupid are accused of harassment, etc....now, if they don't this genius of an idiot asks why they don't do anything.
You honestly have to be mentally disturbed to be a dim.

It honestly made my head hurt reading the article. The level of stupidity on the city council is overwhelming.
I really didn't think people could be this stupid.

Just another reason that Cleveland is called the “Mistake on the Lake”.

Councilman Blaine Griffin asked if more could be done to hold the owners of gas stations, dollar stores and other establishments responsible for the crimes that occur on their property. Griffin called it premise liability. He said these businesses, and perhaps even homes that stage parties, should be required to provide security.Hmmm. And ... you won't charge them TAXES anymore?

He said these businesses, and perhaps even homes that stage parties, should be required to provide security. They could do that. Your property tax revenues would subsequently drop by about 80%, but they could do that.

Well, pretty soon they will have destroyed the Constitution and the civil “rights” (=self-serving demands) that go along with it. Will they be able to survive in anarchy which has neither?

It’s out of control because of quarantines, closures, and restrictions. There’s nothing to go “downtown” for. Without a critical mass of workers, tourists, conventions, sports events, and people living in or near the city going to a restaurant, museum, sports/cultural event etc., the criminal element is what remains. It was a huge mistake not to open EVERYTHING up after the George Floyd protests turned rioting/looting made it very clear what quarantine would lead to. JMHO
