At the link be be sure to listen to the two-minute description of how the Navajo code talkers saved marines under attack at Iwo Jima.

After the war Peter MacDonald became tribal president, was ousted and sent to prison in 1990 on bribery, fraud and other charges, released in 1995 after a pardon from the tribe and in 2001 his sentence was commuted by President Clinton.

In 2017, MacDonald, along with Fleming Begaye Sr. (PVT, USMC), Roy Hawthorne (CPL, USMC), Thomas H. Begay (CPL, USMC), Samuel Holiday (PFC, USMC) and Alfred Newman (PFC, USMC) were honored in a White House Ceremony by President Donald Trump. MacDonald spoke alongside the president.

One of my best friends is a full blooded Navajo.

Two weeks ago I helped him start moving his stuff from a hill side he owns overlooking a beautiful lake in New England.

We pulled out a couple of classic Mercedes cars he owns with my Unimog from a field below his house.

He had planned on retiring there, but can't stand all of the democrats surrounding him there.

It literally and only is because of democrats that he is selling and leaving this piece of paradise.

They have no idea he is a Trump supporter, so their TDS isn't a factor.

He just can't stand any more being around people with their way of "thinking".

Protected population?

Yes and the protectors stole a lot of their money.

As for the feds....the huge accident that allowed toxic mine run off to contaminate a river that supplies a lot of their drinking water happened under Obama.

But Trump also ordered the feds to make a data base for missing women and to investigate cold case murders.

I met Joe Begay at Four Corners National Monument about 8 years ago. There are a number of open air booths where mostly Navajo vendors sell their wares.

My youngest son was of middle school age, and he was talking to an elderly gentlemen, so I went to see what was going on. Joe had an amazing display of hand made silver articles, to include military insignia.

As I was admiring a set of silver jump wings, Joe and I talked about our memories of going to Jump School at Fort Benning. Joe was a Green Beret during the 60s, and spoke of his service in Vietnam. He also showed us pictures of the movies he appeared in...it was an incredible hour we spent there.

Thanks for the memories, Joe. Just my opinion, but you take the Navajo for granted at your own risk.

My mother's family was from Phoenix and we spend much time in Arizona. Her brother worked The Line for the U.S. Government.
Consequently I learned much about the American Indians in Arizona. They get casinos...no one else does. Of course, they are supposed to pay income tax on all their gains.

1. Ak-Chin Indian Community
2. Cocopah Indian Tribe
3. Colorado River Indian Tribes*
4. Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation
5. Fort Mojave Indian Tribe*
6. Fort Yuma Quechan Tribe
7. Gila River Indian Community
8. Havasupai Tribe
9. Hopi Tribe
10. Hualapai Tribe
11. Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians
13. Pascua Yaqui Tribe
14. Pueblo of Zuni
15. Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community
16. San Carlos Apache Tribe
17. San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe
18. Tohono O'odham Nation
19. Tonto Apache Tribe
20. White Mountain Apache Tribe
21. Yavapai-Apache Tribe
22. Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe
*Reservation boundaries extend into neighboring states

I remember seeing groups of Indian men (groups of about five or six) squatting on their booted toes on Phoenix street corners, drinking.
Alcohol is a TERRIBLE problem for them...since their "race" is Oriental Asian and they have a deficiency in acetyl dehydrogenase. Their genetic ancestry is Oriental Asian and after all those generations they still don't succeed the way other Asian Orientals do here...Chinese, that is, from China.

Mostly I pity them for the success that has eluded too many of them. The 6.79 million of them are worse off than any other group. There are successful individuals but as a group they stay poor...and they stay together.
Some have jobs with the Feds as guides and game/park keepers. THEY are successful individuals.
I still have some family in Arizona.

Joe Arpaio, the American former law enforcement officer and politician, served as the 36th Sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona for 24 years. I admired his guts.

I can't think of two groups, BLM and "native American Indians," who are more different.

Yet Oklahoma, with the most Indian tribes in the US went all out for TRUMP. A TOTAL RED STATE!
Outside of Oklahoma, the tribes went blue.

This is an incredibly bad public relations move by his campaign. Seems to me this could be a symptom of behind-the-scenes desperation.

"... political home in the Democratic party." What that Democrat home looks like other than that the Dems have done nothing I can think of however, they try their best to destroy the Constitution and those laws by liberal/Marxist Governors and Mayors encouraging destruction of their TAX-BASE for BLM, antifa and other terrorist and bullies ruining their towns and cities.
