To the paragraph police, "here's one you'll like."
I thought this writer covered a lot of good points on that issue.
My oldest sister lives in Manhattan. She’s planning on moving upstate. I’ve offered to have her moved to a piece of land that I own close by but she’s a New Yorker. It’s hard for her to go from big city to rural. I hope I don’t have to go rescue her but I would.
Places like Chicago, NYC, Baltimore, Seattle, Portland and LA are in big trouble. They have Democratic supermajorities and their policies keep on forcing people with common sense out. So all the remaining voters are rabid lefties. Which means the crazy just keeps getting crazier. Wash, rinse and repeat — it is a vicious circle
In the end, they will all end up like Detroit - or worse.
Everything the Left takes over... Dies
Now he lives in Phoenix, Arizona. As of June, he told me, I had never even been to Phoenix. And then he moved there. He does all his meetings on Zoom....
Perception. Business needed the prestige address for credibility. Now, folks understand you need to use MS Teams and work remotely. Goodbye $$$$ overhead

This is in today’s New York Post, one of the few papers that (mostly) tells it like it is.
2020 real life Escape from New York or #1 Blade Runner?
Enjoy you dystopia...or as Yogi Berra (great NYY catcher) would say, “It’s like deja vu all over again”.

Correct, and here’s what’s next:
- Employees take their big city salaries and buy nice properties in the suburbs and rural areas
- Employers realize they don’t need the prestigious city addresses, city wage taxes, or high rents, and relocate their HQ’s outside the cities, or go completely virtual.
- Employers THEN realize that they don’t need to pay higher wages to attract employees, because they aren’t asking the employees to live in areas with higher costs of living
- Wages readjust, and everybody wins. Except the cities, the democrats who run them, and the woke morons still living in them
What’s next is anyone’s guess.
I'll never understand that mindset. Leaving that mess for a Rural Red part of the nation was very easy, especially given the mess these cities have become.
The smart money is/will be buying up property in NYC. You dont see 50-60%-off deals very often.
NYC will be back - and big time. You cant discount the infrastructure investment. You cant overlook that at its darkest point there wont be a tax-cutting, law-and-order Rudy II, by which time the perfumed-punk anarchists will have moved on to the next cause.
This too will pass.
Now they’ll come to normal towns and vote Democrat.
Comrade DeBlasio and tyrant Cuomo succeed where Al queda failed
“Correct, and heres whats next:”
New Yorkers moving to Florida, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, and North Carolina will continue to vote Democrat and pour money into the coffers of Democrat politicians at the state and local level. They will push lean governments to enact regulation and add social programs. They will support big bond issues and expensive infrastructure programs. Taxes will rise to support the programs and pay the bond interest. Within ten years their tax burden will be where it was, middle class neighborhoods will be converted to slums. All for the good of the people.
