Mask mandates work just like gun control laws - they restrict the liberty of good people while doing nothing to solve issues perpetuated by problematic socio-economic groups. This must be why Democrats find mandates so appealing.
You don’t discuss the idea of the virus particles being in droplets of water some of which the mask will capture.
If it were the Bubonic Plague or Ebola I’d feel comfortable knowing that “SOME of which the mask will capture.”
How many coronavirus cells? need to get through your mask to infect you? ONE! So stopping “SOME” of them is USELESS.
Why the discussions and/or opinions? Either masks WORK or they DON’T. It CAN’T be BOTH!

It is both because masks will stop some incoming and outgoing particles but won’t stop them all.
Perhaps you mean to ask whether they’re worth wearing. My opinion is some of the time or if your surroundings require it.
Got my hair cut at my house this week.
Girl walks in asking if she needs to wear a mask.
I tell her it’s her decision, I’m not sick or worried about catching anything and I choose not to wear one.
She decides to wear her mask. No problem.
Cuts my hair and we make small talk.
She notes that my jasmine trees are in full bloom with the branches hanging low from the weight of the blooms.
After the haircut we walk out back so she can see the trees.
Before she even stepped through the open back door and with muffled excitement she says; “WOW, those smell wonderful!”
I never got the chance to say it because she realized right away and admitted plainly...
If she could smell the blooms, the mask wasn’t working at all.

Well, I was taught to cover my mouth/nose when I sneeze or cough and then wash my hands. That is superior to wearing a mask.
The only purpose of the mask is to claim people are unreliable and need to submit their compliance due to that....the same argument for surrendering firearms.
Oh, please show me the studies on how the virus is being spread because I have not found any good studies....only guesses.

How many times are people told not to touch the mask? Do people need the warning: "DO NOT TOUCH MASK AFTER WEARING WITHOUT PROPER HAND SANITATION OR HAND WASHING" I can see that on a tag hanging off the mask for the people who ignore the warning on the box or other warnings they get. This is what I call failing to observe the operation instructions. It is called, "Safety first."
