Zinc with Quercetin

Something new added to the mix recently.

A renowned Sydney doctor is urging health authorities to give vulnerable people infected with coronavirus a cheap and freely available drug that he believes is an effective “cure”.

Frontline medical workers should also be given it preventively to lower risk and in light of the large number who have contracted COVID-19 in Victoria, he argues.

Professor Thomas Borody, a gastroenterologist credited with developing a world-first cure for peptic ulcers, saving countless lives, has stepped up his advocacy for what he believes is the “answer to Australia’s COVID-19 crisis”.

Taken together, Ivermectin – a treatment for head lice that costs as little as $2 – combined with zinc and the antibiotic Doxycycline, could be a “potential lifesaver right now”, Professor Borody said.

Coronavirus Australia: Sydney doctor claims cheap head lice drug could ‘cure’ COVID-19 and should be used now

You are right about people with kidney problems having a very restricted diet if one of my friends is an example. There are many many foods that she can’t eat due to her condition. When she comes to visit, I ask her for the list every time. It’s pretty long, and most of it is stuff that I eat on a regular basis. I can’t remember all of the things, but it’s at least a couple of dozen things. She can have certain grains, certain, fruits, and certain vegetables, so I try to tailor meals around her needs. Of course, now that we are in the midst of CoVid panic, she will barely leave her house, much less travel to other destinations.

“You’re better off being on the iodine protocol”

Do you have a link to that? First I’ve heard of it

whatever remedy you decide to take, you dont necessarily have to take it every day, you just have to have it on hand when you start to develop flu symptoms. And that goes for ANY flu and not just COVID 19.

it’s definitely not harsh on the kidneys but iodine/iodide (which must be taken in a ratio) do cause us to detox and toxins can hurt your kidneys. you build up your dosage but it’s an extremely effective mineral, as is magnesium.

no, contrast dye is toxic but if you saturate your body with Lugol’s (liquid form) or Iodoral (pill form) you will not absorb radioactive iodine into your thyroid (which is where the bulk of iodine is stored)

Thanks, I have seen that one- but you need a prescription for it for the human version of it- the animal version may ‘possibly be’ dangerous- who knows what else is in it- the animal version i mean-

It will be hard to convince a doc that you need a de-wormer for something other than de-worming or de-licing

above is a search for it. I know Dr. Stephanie Buist who has the Stepping Stone site. Dr. David Brownstein is the preeminent iodine expert.

While you’re at it, please research BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene). BHT is a food additive that also destroys lipid enveloped viruses such as COVID.

I take Quercitin/Zinc plus BHT for prophylaxis.

I’m glad you’ve asked, because I recently started us on quercetin. We were already taking zinc on occasion. On our fifth day of taking the two with our dinner meal, both my husband and I ended up with mild bowel upset. We don’t think it was anything we ate, and wondered if it was from the quercetin/ zinc combo.

We are taking 50 mg zinc, and 500 mg quercetin, along with a daily multivitamin, 500 mg vitamin C, and 2500-5000 IU of vitamin D3.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OLR1KC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I did discover that taking it by soaking it into soem bread makes it burn a lot less- I can stand a bad taste, but coupled with the burning- wow- it was too much- but now i can take it with hte bread-

Zinc bump.

Maybe there’s something to this CV-19/Zinc thing?

Wife and I both have co-morbidities (Sp?) and so this is a subject of interest.

And no I’m not morbidly obese! Although I could probably lose a few pounds. ;-)

That’s only in extremely high doses. And it is only might cause damage.

I started taking the Q + zinc last week. Took me several days to realize I hadn’t needed any claritin and it has been windy and I mowed.

Also, not sure if it is the supplements but I started waking up with some “stiffness”... every morning. Maybe I will up the dosage a little. :)

The one I got was Quercetin plus nettles.
I have also been taking it daily. I figured it’s low risk with low (but possibly high) reward. For the most part it has mild anti-inflammatory properties but they were touting this since before covid that it showed help with lung inflammation, so I figured why not. I take one a day. The back-ups that I got in case I ever started showing symptoms were Brommalain, Tumeric and olive leaf extract.

I hear Quercitin is difficult to absorb by the body. Do you take anything that assures absorption?

I have environmental allergies almost all year long. When one allergen goes away, another seems to be starting. I had allergy shots for a few years to combat the most problematic ones, and have been able to manage things with OTC medicines for the most part. I’m interested in how much quercetin you take for your allergies.

You coudl try this ‘Stomach Ease” if it’s stomach upset

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CMD63E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Supposed to work pretty well- i just got it the other day- only had one cup so far- so can’t really evaluate it too much at htis point- but stomach did ease some for me- and it tastes pretty ok- but i load mine with sugar- can’t stand tea without sugar lol-

As for the D vit- We don’t take daily- (I get kidney stones, and D can contribute to them)- but have it on hand incase we get a flu or virus- and we take the ‘Vitamin D Hammer” which is 50,000 iu one time- supposed to knock the flu down on it’s can- We only just learned about it- so havent’; had a chance to see if it works or not- but from what we’ve read on it- they claim it works pretty well slamming hte flu all at once like that

I too have medical issues. I had the top lobe of my right lung removed for cancer about 2 years ago. Plus I have COPD and emphysema as well. so far no issues. 8>)
