They’re provably commercial 5mW max. lasers. Without testing, I’d say mirrored, polarized sunglasses would be somewhat effective. 12 gauge would help.

I agree with the 12 gauge option. Actually, laser safety goggles are specific for the laser wavelength. They are designed to block the specific characteristics of the laser in use. Unfortunately, one size doesn’t fit all. The lasers in use by the dirtbags appear to be 550 nM hand held units. They fall under the Class IV category which means that they can do damage to body tissue. Lasers are safety characterized by what’s called the Safe Eye Exposure Distance (SEED). The Nd YAG family of lasers (which these appear to be) can have a SEED measured in miles.
