T.S. Eliot's The Hollow Men: A Poetic Tribute to Straw Man Joe Biden
Reference: All Poetry website ^ | 1925 | T. S. Eliot

    The Hollow Men

    Mistah Kurtz-he dead
A penny for the Old Guy

    We are the hollow men
    We are the stuffed men
    Leaning together
    Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
    Our dried voices, when
    We whisper together
    Are quiet and meaningless
    As wind in dry grass
Or rats' feet over broken glass
    In our dry cellar

Shape without form, shade without colour,
    Paralysed force, gesture without motion;

    Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death's other Kingdom
Remember us — if at all — not as lost
    Violent souls, but only
    As the hollow men
    The stuffed men.
    . . .
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

        T. S. Eliot (1925)

This is the way LIFE's PURPOSE ends
This is the way BROTHERHOOD ends
This is the way FREEDOM ends
When the BRAVE quit caring and wimp out.

I was searching for a quotation or poem to describe the sheer decadence of Joe Biden.  Finally, I think I found a good one in the passage above from T. S. Eliot's poem The Hollow Man (1925). It's all there:

  • Biden is as "Hollow" a human being as they come. There's no moral compass guiding his life: he's motivated by sheer greed for power and money.  In that respect, he's much like "Mistah Kurtz", the anti-hero racist who became the savage of the Congo in Joseph Conrad's novel Heart of Darkness.

  • Biden's also a "Headpiece full of straw" -- the perfect straw man to allow the Marxists and anarchists to gain power and totally destroy America.

In fact, Biden is the modern version of the original "Old Guy", Guy Fawkes, the traitor who tried — with conspirators — to blow up both houses of Parliament in 1605.  Sure Joe, let's just defund the police and let AntiFa terrorists burn down Portland.  Great idea, you fool!

  • Biden's words, indeed, are as "meaningless as wind in dry grass".  All he can do is lie, tell jokes nobody understands, and mumble the foolish chatter of his demented skull.

  • But at least he's at home with the 'Rats in his "dry cellar" basement.

  • And he's certainly a "Paralysed force" because he can't decide which lie to tell next or remember which handler talking point he's supposed to say next.

  • Yes, "Gesture without motion" and no human passion to match the reading of the teleprompter or answering pre-arranged questions from the stooge "press".

  • "Shade without colour" -- Normal people wear sunglasses to see the world more clearly.  But when Biden puts his shades on, he can't tell a black man from a brown, yellow, red or white one.  In Biden's psychedelic world "you ain't" who you think you are.  And shame on you for thinking for yourself!  Listen to your Mistah.

  • Finally, all of Biden's hollow inner circle are "stuffed" — stuffed with $100 dollar bills, thanks to Chinese, Ukrainian, and Middle Eastern payoffs, bribes, and extortions for the benefit of family and 'Rat friends.

How about a little poetry and accompanying Cliff Notes.

A remarkablly prescient description of Joe Biden, the Hollow Man, almost a century after T. S. Eliot penned this.

T. S. Eliot was an American who lived in England where he gained his fame.

His poems about cats were turned into Cats the musical. He wrote a powerful play, “Murder in the Cathedral” an artful piece that highlights the battle of human beings against tyranny. The play is based on the life of Thomas Becket.

His name should be “Joe Placeholder”.

It perfectly describes Biden. Actually the democrat party is made up entirely of Hollow Men. T.S. Elliot was a poetic Nostradamus

Thanks. Perfect choice for Biden.

As far as a poem that describes the overall decay of society in general I would recommend Yeats's "The Second Coming".

...
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

...
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

I myself have described Biden, mostly his physical aspect, or what’s left of it, as a fearsome sight I remember from my childhood, when the empty shells of what were called the “17 year locusts” could be seen piled up by the hundreds around the bases of trees in the neighborhood. He’s just that empty and just that insubstantial looking.. Of course whatever votes he gets will not be for him, but for his Veep who will succeed him , in effect, the day he takes office, which happily, is a virtual impossibility, no matter what how the polls heave to and fro.

Kudos, but too deep.
“Bring out the gimp!” from Pulp Fiction characterizes him better.

There’s just not enough depth to Joe for a more cerebral treatment of him.

Some of us old timer remember the Joe Biden of the 1988 campaign:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f2Z30j61aw

That is the year that the mass media called Joe out for being a plagiarist and a liar.

My favorite part of the clip was when Joe proved he was a true seer: “I was stupid then and I will be stupid again...”

Wow, the “17 years locusts” is a powerful image of empty terror. Thanks for that comment.

Ah, but there are those of the Never-Trumper school of opinion that think Joe Biden looks and acts “Presidential”.

Repeated instances of persons being willfully ignorant and visually handicapped peering into the future.

What it boils down to, Joe Biden is NOT Donald Trump. And for some, that alone is enough.

Orange Man Bad. All else follows from that axiom.

It’s definitely got double meaning with Biden. When he had a memory and a mind, it had nothing of substance in it. Now he has neither container. In effect, nothing has changed except that he talks less. The sentences are broken but the ones that used to hold together communicated an equal zero. Like an empty glass that sits in your cabinet for 50 years, never used. Then it falls out of the cabinet and breaks. What has been lost?

The Second Coming is a great fit for societal decay. Never heard of the before. Many thanks.

The "blood-dimmed tide is loosed" reminds me the meme I posted a couple years back...

Good point. And Biden’s weakness has the Dems scared. From time-to-time I visit Dem Underground to see what they are talking about. And every since he won the nomination, they hardly ever praise or highlight what he says or does.

He’s almost a forgotten man. On the other hand, there’s plenty of talk about who is VP pick will be.

He supposed to announce his VP next week. When the dust is settled after that event, Biden might as well be your empty glass in the cabinet. There is zero enthusiasm over Biden, and that does not bode well at the ballot box.

The pollsters have been telling us that Biden is 5 to 10 points ahead of Trump.

Regardless, those pollsters are totally lacking in originality and diligence.

Why have they not studied the deeper voting preferences of people, say, across different occupations?

I'll guess 80% of teachers are anti-Trump. And 65% of engineers are pro Trump. Deeper analysis of voting trends would be darn interesting and give vital clues.

But most pollsters have one mission in life: "The media is paying us to say: Orange Man is in Trouble, so that's what we deliver."

And did you notice that Rupert Murdoch's Leftist son is no longer in charge of Fox? Yet it may not make a difference. In an election year, the media make money by pretending the Presidential Elections are a tight horse race.
