I’ve never listened to Tapper before. It’s fascinating how he can carry on both sides of the interview on his own, answering his own questions without the need for the guest to say a word.

But surely people that are invited to be interviewed must sometimes have the mistaken impression that they’re supposed to do something other than sit there and get lectured at. I suppose that’s how the Admiral felt. Lesson learned, I hope.

Tapper was unnecessarily confrontational and got his butt politely handed him by virtue of the facts.

Tapper started with a false premise and when the admiral refused to accept that and try to defend a lie Tapper got visibly upset. He didn’t care about the answers, he just got petulant. Quite obvious that he wasn’t being a journalist conducting an interview, he was being a partisan trying to trip someone up to score points for his side.
