..statement from its president and CEO Dennis Veilleux, the market for modern sporting rifles has experienced significant excess manufacturing capacity. Given this level of manufacturing capacity, we believe there is adequate supply for modern sporting rifles for the foreseeable future.~~~SNIP~~~
The company re-entered quickly and has subsequently shipped more than 2,000 Colt LE6920S to commercial firearms retailers to meet some of the demand. Samuel Colt, who was always far more of a businessman than actual gun designer, is likely looking down and smiling!
Yet AR's are still scarce and premium priced in many markets.

What caused the company to change its mind?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Could it be the biggest rise in gun sales in history?
People quit buying Colt overall because the company went “Woke”
They pissed on and off their market. This is essentially bringing back old Coke when New Coke flopped.
Could it be the biggest rise in gun sales in history? After years of being gun salesman of the year, Obama is bumped off his throne by the coronavirus.
“There is no ammo.”
Beg to differ my friend. Just picked up 360 rounds of 5.56 this morning at my local Acadamy sports.
The Chicom Cooties increased sales some, but the real takeoff in sales occurred thanks to the Antifags and Burning Looting Mobs.
If the article is about AR-15s why is there a picture of a 22 caliber rifle up top?
To: V_TWIN
Same here. My academy is seeing more and more .45, 7.62x39, and 6.5 creed
To: PROCON
Does it come in the 50 caliber fully automatic with a high magazine clip version?
Ask for a friend at cnn.
To: This_Dude
Yeah regular shipments 3 times a week they told me. Just a good idea to get there early as possible. A little pricey however.
Have you checked your local Mega Lo Mart? My impression is that guns are scarce, but ammo is plentiful. Because the newbies emptying out the gun inventory think gun incidents work the way they do for the good guys in the movies - one shot, one leg (or other limb). That’s why the good guys never police up the ammo off the disabled/unconscious villains, despite the presence of other ongoing threats. When your shot placement is Olympic caliber, who needs extra ammo?
“why is there a picture of a 22 caliber rifle up top?”
Because most media knuckleheads are completely ignorant when it comes to weapons. And or they don’t care about the accuracy of their reporting.
Well, maybe the depicted model is chambered in .22LR. It sure as hell is not chambered for .223 or 5.56mm.
Does it come in the 50 caliber fully automatic with a high magazine clip version? Nope. That's an AR-16 you're thinking about right there.
I have to laugh a little - certain firearms manufacturers have been a little slow on the market uptake for a long time now - no names, of course (coughcoughSmithAndWessoncoughcough) - and have managed to seize bankruptcy from the jaws of plenty in a booming (sorry) market. Colt only recently decided that maybe revolvers that are currently demanding four figures on the used market might be worth making again. Good call, fellas.
To: Billthedrill
The media thinks they come in 50 caliber and can fire a thousand round a minute.
To: Lurkinanloomin
Yep. I keep three 30 round mags topped off, and more in my ammo crate.
