PC Alert- The enfeebled left automatically deems the following words racist, sexist, anti-gay and anti pigeon. Yes pigeon, don't ask me. End alert.
I have a brief poser, just wondering aloud what others think about the concepts of self-defense and the notion of clear and present danger.
I really do believe that many on the left have tragically contracted that hideous Trump derangement syndrome. When you see dozens frothing at the mouth with slack jaws as well, that's a pretty good clue right there. The left is really now something straight out of Alice in Wonderland.
But now question of substantial import. What if a political party, weak and feckless, is taken over by the berserk mobs in the street. They all mesh into one party of unhinged and hysterical blobs. Then they begin enacting legislation that actually endangerd my life. That to me would constitute a clear and present danger to my right of self-defense.
So let's be crystal clear. If the people we elect become either so incompetent or just plain out of touch with reality, I would believe it not only the right but the moral obligation of the community to act and use any means necessary to defend the safety of the community, in a situation where the police are either defunded or abandoned. It's not enough to say to people well just go out and defend yourselves. I can do that quite well, but most people cannot. And so for these communities and people who cannot defend themselves the notion of a very real and present danger looms. I believe it's a question that needs to be explored much more and in depth.
And let us not forget the words of that great leader Nancy Pelosi who quite famously proffered that people are "going to do what they want to do." And how true, as people on our side of the aisle will do exactly what they want to do too, or in this case they'll do whatever they deem necessary and won't be seeking any permission at all, especially from that disgrace that refer's to themselves as the left.
P.S. Now over at free speech Parler too. Check it out.#VolkaysVolcano. If I can, I'll put Freep backlinks in over there as well. Chris
I hate Pigeons!
The concept of self defense and the concept of clear and present danger are separate issues. Each state and the federal government has self defense laws either in the criminal code or the code of criminal procedures. You must know what the state law is where you use self defense.
Clear and present danger is a concept that allows for the use on a nations force (civil or military when there is an external or internal threat deemed a clear and present danger by the President (as commander in chief).
Your example of the government failing to keep order is not a clear and present danger, since only the government can make that decleration.
You alwasy have the right to self defense - withing the construct od each state and the federal laws.
But——
Just because you have the right does not mean you will be absolved of a crime (no billed by a grand jury). You may still have to convince 12 people it was self defense. The obligation to prove self defense as an affirmative defense rests with you-not the prosecutor.
Under the circumstances - in a liberal jurisdiction - run away! You can’t win.
“I hate Pigeons!”
I was in charge of pigeon control at my university when I was in graduate school. Scoped Crossman pump 22 and a smooth bore 22 with rat shot and traps... I still don’t like pigeons.
I don't know about hysterical but they certainly look unhinged.
It should br obvious to any logical person that a representative democratic system inherently bears within itself the seeds of its own destruction.
Ben Franklin and his compatriot leaders knew it. What we got then was a republic, and it has been very hard to keep it. The unchristian natural human is wholly infected from birth of the disease of selfishness that is incompatible to the system.
The attempt to mitigate this overwhelming tendency through religion, education, and a just legal system has dwindled and is at the point of failure. Robert Bork has pointed this out years ago in his treatise "Slouching Towards Gomorrah" and "The Tempting Of America."
Only the altruistic wise and their adversaries--the sly political manipulators--have paid much attention to this premise.
We now know who up to this point is winning this war for the world: the dominance of self-serving demagogues representing a credulous greedy mass of poorly schooled slavish subjects.
