When Bari Weiss wrote in her resignation letter from The New York Times earlier in the week that editors at these liberal publications start at a narrative and work backward, she perfectly summarized everything that is wrong with the media.
The Washington Post decided to go out and prove her even more correct this morning by publishing what is one of the worst, most poorly cited articles Ive ever read.
Tweet : The Washington Post "Analysis: Spring gun-buying binge, fueled by social upheaval, leads to spike in violent crime, new research shows Americans purchased millions more guns than usual this spring, spurred in large part by racial animosity stoked by widespread protests over the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, as well as anxiety over the effects of the covid-19 pandemic. That gun-buying binge is associated with a significant increase in gun violence across the United States."
Perhaps the author of this piece doesnt know what associated is? It delineates some kind of direct connection. I ate hot wings last night and live in the United States. Am I now associated with the recent spike in gun violence across the country?

It's you folks who live no-where near the murders buying guns reacting to peaceful protests that are the cause of the murders.
Also says it's 'anxiety over the effects of the covid-19 pandemic'
At this point, they’re just engaging in libel. Disgusting.
Is there something new about that ?
They abandoned even the pretense of objectivity long ago, but now they don’t even try to be subtle with their propaganda. They’re making MSNBC seem fair and balanced, by comparison.
Just doing what WaComPost does best.....
Their lies would be downright laughable if they didn’t wield power in shaping public opinion.
So all the people doing the violent crimes, including shooting law enforcement officers were wearing MAGA hats? Don’t think so.
Yes you racist baby killer, Wash-Post has your picture
freedom of speech does not include falsely screaming incendiary “fire” in a crowded public theatre
maybe
freedom of the press does not include falsely screaming incendiary lies in our public square
its made much more dangerous yet by the trend towards monopolistic market control over our national political news with most of the available outlets (TV/radio/internet even) controlled by far, far leftist/commie type special interests
Yes, and now you have my picture, too. Find Waldo Perseverando. LOL!
Nice picture but...
It can't be you.
Our trusted honest media told us that everyone at that rally died of COVID after passing it on to those in Florida and Texas.
Anybody got a link to the WaPo article. I’ve looked at the WaPo and can’t find it.
The link they provided with their tweet is bad.
But Google found it for me
Spike in violent crime follows rise in gun-buying amid social upheaval(Washington Post 7/15/2020)
I am not holding up my end of the premise. I just purchased a Glock 22 but have not perpetrated any violence. I will be at my local range tomorrow to get some practice with my pistol. Will that count? I will commit violence upon the target...
Thank you. The WaPo is really, really sick. Unhinged even.
“Americans purchased millions more guns than usual this spring ... That gun-buying binge is ASSOCIATED with a significant increase in gun violence across the United States.”
yep. just like mustard and relish are ASSOCIATED with hotdogs ...
Partisan Media Shills update.
Ice cream consumption increases in the summer. Violent crimes increase in the summer. Ergo, consumption of ice cream is associated with an increase in violent crime.
See how easy it is to be stupid? WaPo could teach a master-class on stupid.
Of course it is associated with a rise in gun violence. There is more violent crime, more people feel threatened, and go out and buy a gun. It’s like saying a rise in purchases of OFF is causing more mosquito bites.
I don’t understand why anyone cares. They have proven to be liars, why pay any further attention to them?
