Four members of the Toledo City Council, all Democrats, were arrested and charged in a bribery scheme by federal law enforcement authorities on Tuesday.
Federal prosecutors alleged that Tyrone Riley, Yvonne Harper, Larry Sykes, and Garrick Johnson, were involved in a scheme that extorted money from business owners in the Ohio city in exchange for favorable council votes. The FBI began its investigation into the council members in early 2018.
Each of the accused members could face up to 10 years in prison for the bribery charges, and up to 20 years on the extortion charges.
Also charged in the scheme was an attorney who is accused of helping orchestrate the crimes.

Funny how there is NO word of CIVIL ASSET FORFEITURE for this Criminal Enterprise, Shouldn’t ALL Public Servants Charged with Corruption be subject to complete civil asset forfeiture, just like the drug dealers???
Which is why I'm waiting for "self help" to make itself felt. Maybe a little Argentinian "desaparecidos" action is called for.

ABSOLUTELY! Also, quadruple penalties for causing distrust of government among the citizens of the republic.
And yet we have some Freepers who are livid that Barr hasn't indicted, tried, convicted, and hanged Brennan, Comey, McCabe et al. in half that time period.
Point noted. I’ll admit that I have a tough time relating to FUBARR more than once. Now if we could get higher-ups from the last administration of TRAITORS, it would be very noteworthy. Minnows in the swamp, but I will take it. Any are encouraging.
Thanks, Nothingburger.
Be a Democrat and get bribes from other people.
A couple here in Los Angeles were arrested for the same thing. One recently and one late last year so I figure they are all committing crimes.
Give me money or your project does not get approved.
Thanks for responding to my post.
Here’s some food for thought. I don’t want to sound like an optimist, but I try to look at all sides of an issue, particularly guided by my interest in history.
If seems that a lot of criminal conspiracy prosecutions — drug rings for example — begin with catching a relatively low-level perp.
Facing serious prison time, this low-life can be coerced into rolling over on another perp higher up in the conspiracy.
And so on, and so on ...
Again, I don’t want to sound like an optimist, but some of these Antifa rioters who face federal charges are likely going to start ratting out their handlers who work behind the scenes.
No, thank YOU. A different perspective helps to put things into perspective.
