I mentioned this elsewhere, but
per DNC rules (not that they follow rules), in the event of the disability of a nominee of the Party for President after the adjournment of the National Convention, the Democratic National Committee is authorized to fill the vacancy.
If the DNC polling post-Convention suggests Biden is toast, I expect they'll pull a Torricelli. Problem is, if it's not Bernie then they alienate their base.
