Something rather hilarious just happened: the US Embassy in Moscow decided to hang up a big “LGBT+” flag next to the Stars and Stripes, see for yourself:

Pretty soon the Russians, being Russian, made a joke out of it saying that the “LGBT Embassy” in Moscow decided to fly the Stars and Stripes :-)
But that was not enough. The clueless US Ambassador to Russia, John Sullivan, decided that he personally needed to chime in to explain to the Russian people why the US had decided to post that flag on the same day when the Russian people would vote on a number of Constitutional Amendments which included one saying that marriage is defined as the union of a man and a woman and another one mentioning Russia’s faith in God. Listen to the poor man and just imagine the reaction in Russia to this:

It’s bad politics to completely spurn a one-issue voting group. And that increasingly and depressingly large group “gots the fire down below.”

All the comments are in Russian. I used Google translate on the first one. It asked if the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia also flew the rainbow flag.
The next one pointed out that “pride” is one of the mortal sins. He pointed out that America was founded on Christian principles, mentioned our founders, and asked if Trump was aware of the ambassador doing that.
Very sad.
I wondered the same thing. Its the ever-shifting sands of homosexual politics. I think it stands for “Intersex.”
According to planned parenthood (the first search result in Google, hmmm):

And doing it when Russia is taking a vote on that very issue. I guess foreign interference is cool again.
I think we have plenty of interest in getting to know Russians who can hide their interests and actions from their own government, particularly if they are upset with Putin’s rules.

The Russians’ wry humor is the best, really an art form, IMHO.
