From what I’ve observed, the Black people I work with (all young to middle-aged professionals) are really tired of all the ‘diversity training’ we’re put through - I think they’re also embarrassed by it.
And over the past few weeks, in lockdown at home, the Black people in my neighborhood have seemed to be especially solicitous and polite. I’ve gotten the feeling that they are embarrassed - perhaps somewhat worried - too.
There are classy people and riff-raff in every ethnicity. There are also cowards and suckups in every one, too.
We need to drive a wedge between black people and white liberals, and make them realize that white liberals just use them for their own political gain.
The biggest megaphones go to those who espouse the most vicious, uncompromising hate. There is not much money in acting like a decent person.
I’m being ruefully sarcastic.
But this is often how it seems to us who just want a decent life and do not awaken each day wondering who to blame for our imperfect lives.
