Yesterday, we reported that Quaker Foods caved to calls to "cancel" Aunt Jemima, and that the brand will be renamed. Now, the great-grandson of the real Aunt Jemima, Anna Short Harrington, is speaking out to express his anger and disappointment that her legacy is being erased.

Fresh from scratch pancakes are amazingly easy and quick to make, and taste better than the pre-packaged product of any brand. Same with real Maple Syrup, albeit the latter can be a bit expensive. But Aunt Jemima face on the box, or on the bottle of corn sweetener and artificially flavored Franken-syrup, always seemed like EVERYBODY'S aunt and was a reassuring image and reliable flavor in millions of kitchens.
These people are utterly insane and it's about time somebody put 'em down.
