On this day (not date) in 2015, Donald Trump announced his candidacy. I admit to not watching it live. As far as I knew he was a celebrity real estate mogul and that was that. I hadnt watched any of his TV shows. While my family and I were initially Cruzers, we slowly warmed up to the incredibly successful Brooklyn guy who shared our common goals for America. After eight years of the muslim, Donald Trump was the right man at the right time, in the nick of time.
In fact, we didnt view the speech until sometime in 2017. No matter, it is classic Trump at his engaging best. In our household we occasionally have it on in the background while doing chores, either followed or preceded by vids of the democrat-media pulling out their hair on election night 2016. Heh, heh.
From watching the video or reading the transcript, its clear why patriots love him and the Establishment had to destroy him. Our politicians dont look out for American interests. They dont know how to negotiate with other nations and dont care. Before his campaign popularized Make America Great Again, and coined We are going to drain the swamp, the Establishment realized right away the danger posed by Donald Trump. He would assume office without political debts.
Cliff-Notes to his speech:
Trade. America used to have victories, but not anymore. China beats us all the time. Its not that the Chinese are so good at negotiating. I beat them all the time. Its that the people we sent to negotiate were so awful. They didnt know what they were doing and its killing America.
Tokyo did much the same. Try to find a Chevy in Tokyo. This is going to stop.

This day is vividly remembered. He had announced a run several years prior, but had bowed out after one debate.
This time, uncertain of his ambitions, we realized he would be the only man with the courage and wherewithal to topple HRC off her high perch. We prayed he would not let us down, holding our breath until he actually filed the paperwork in order to run.
The rest, as they say, is history. Grab it now, otherwise this history, too, will be erased and removed. The man is a result of many a prayer.
When he announced, I was one of those who didn’t take him seriously, not because of any specific issue, but because he had no experience in politics.
I figured it was like anything else—you don’t want a mechanic working on your car who hasn’t done it before—you don’t want a surgeon opening you up, if they haven’t done it before.
But—the rest of the Republican candidates were so awful on illegal immigration—and Donald Trump was the only candidate who “got it”—and that is how he won me over.
I am a believer that “demography is destiny”, and I didn’t believe the “magic dirt” of America could save us when the majority of people who lived here had third world values—no respect for property rights, racism against white people, short term time horizons that wanted government to take care of them, etc.
That very day I was on board. Actually, I was on the Trump Train since about 1990 when I read, “The Art Of The Deal”. My sister was for Cruz, but jointed me about a month after the escalator. My hubby waited another couple of months, and my BIL was the last hold-out and jumped on very late.
Donald Trump, the great escalator.
Escalating the employment
Escalating the pride
Escalating the rallies
Escalating the covid
Escalating the TDS
Escalating the Greatness.
“This day is vividly remembered.”
There are three events burned into my memory. The day JFK was shot. The Kent State shootings (Hurrah for the NG), and the day Trump made his famous announcement.
I was listening to Rush when the latter happened, and recalled Rush’s snickering.
Saving.
I Voted for President Trump because He’s a Business Man that could at least Balance a Checkbook !!! Everything else is gravy on the plate
His executive experience running a variety of enterprises figured bigly with me as well.
Oh, and his private jet was a 757. There’s a video narrated by his pilot/ops officer/maintenance officer.
Same, and the fact that not long after that a poll came out and DJT was blowing away the other candidates just off that speech alone. And nobody in the media world or political world picked up on it until early 2016. Trump basically had 6 months with his winning message all to himself to blast out to voters. Just scrolling through these old posts for that good feeling again
Happy 10 year anniversary bump to the top!
Thanks for the ping and reminder!
