Public Health Officials Face Wave Of Threats, Pressure Amid Coronavirus Response
Kaiser Health News ^ | June 12, 2020 | Lauren Weber and Anna Maria Barry-Jester and Michelle R. Smith

On Thursday, Ohio’s state health director, who had armed protesters come to her house, resigned. The health officer for Orange County, California, quit Monday after weeks of criticism and personal threats from residents and other public officials over an order requiring face coverings in public.

As the pressure and scrutiny rise, many more health officials have chosen to leave or been pushed out of their jobs. A review by KHN and The Associated Press finds at least 27 state and local health leaders have resigned, retired or been fired since April across 13 states.

From North Carolina to California, they have left their posts due to a mix of backlash and stressful, nonstop working conditions, all while dealing with chronic staffing and funding shortages.

Some health officials have not been up to the job during the biggest health crisis in a century. Others previously had plans to leave or cited their own health issues.

But Lori Tremmel Freeman, CEO of the National Association of County and City Health Officials, said the majority of what she calls an “alarming” exodus resulted from increasing pressure as states reopen. Three of those 27 were members of her board and well known in the public health community — Rio Grande County’s Brown; Detroit’s senior public health adviser, Dr. Kanzoni Asabigi; and the head of North Carolina’s Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services, Chris Dobbins....“They just don’t leave like that,” Freeman said.

Public health officials are “really getting tired of the ongoing pressures and the blame game,” Freeman said. She warned that more departures could be expected in the coming days and weeks as political pressure trickles down from the federal to the state to the local level...

It sounds as if a lot of health directors aren't very healthy in mind, body, or spirit. I don't know which.

When is the freak director for Penn., the nut man that thinks he is a woman, going to get bounced?

Good. The rancid, economy destroying, disloyal turds are being flushed.

Good. These unelected bureaucrats making a ton of money use unconstitutional dictatorial fiats to impose their tyranny. Look at Fauci as the prime example. That bastard needs to go.

No sympathy here. If you take away Americans’ freedom, you should be afraid. Maybe they can leave the country and go to a place more suitable to their tastes, like China.

The sad part of this whole thing is that the next time, when it will matter, people are going to blow it off.
Like the weather channel naming every snowflake, the real storm will be ignored. The whole, “health police” industry has done our freedoms a disservice over decades, going back to the red dye #2 scare.

"Chronic staffing and funding shortages..."

Boo fricking hoo. Just take a look at this the next time a healthcare bureaucrat - public or private sector - says they don't have enough to work with. This trend line is one of the primary reasons for why healthcare is so expensive in the first place. Some of these public healthcare "officials" aren't even from the medical field.

Hopefully soon.
I’m tired of my gym and barbershop being closed.

Public health officials are “really getting tired of the ongoing pressures and the blame game,”

In other words...they don't like being held accountable for their poor performance.

The “health officials” are little Hitlers. They became dictators overnight and destroyed millions of lives with their crazy diktats.
They need to be railroaded out of town.

She resigned because she was about to be exposed by her mother as a total fraud and liar.

This is as it should be. They are not elected officials; the LA one is a Latina activist. They put out these Holy Orders and the Board of Supes bend over and obey them. We the People have absolutely NO recourse. And our LA one makes $400,000 a year. ($450K I think).

We all saw the huge crowds of protesters marching arm in arm.
We saw the local politicians praise the protesters and ignore the ‘urgent’ precautions.
We are now seeing the politicians return their attention to us, still shaking their fingers with dire warnings and admonishments.

We conclude, that most the pandemic procedures are ridiculous. Many of us have been unemployed or underemployed since early March. You can’t eat “Fear” for dinner, or pay your rent with it.

Ohio has been pretty good about ending the lockdown despite the initial strict measures. Even my gym is now open.

Just do it. And do it quickly. Who needs a bunch of bureaucrats who don't even see patients but spend their lives issuing out life destroying, unconstitutional diktats with no respect to anyone’s rights?
