Saw a picture of a ‘similar’ event in the town near me that had ‘hundreds’ gather in the park and one picture shows some gentlemen with their masks on, on one knee BUT in the middle of the picture is a White Woman on both knees and her face on the ground. (From what I could see in the pic, she was middle aged at the least)
Last week in a nearby MD county whites were on their knees taking the ‘pledge’ from the Black organizers of a ‘rally’.
Years ago(1976) we had a robbery in a fast food restaurant and the crew was marched into the freezer laid down, face on the ground and 4 executed with a couple of bullets to the back of the head.
(Apparently only 1 perp who got 4 (one of the victims survived) life sentences and eligible for parole in 90s and (reportedly) died in prison in 2009)
I commented at the time that in a similar situation, UNLESS I was #1 in line the ONLY way I would take one in the back of the head is if there was a footprint on my back.
THAT is the only way I would ‘take’ a knee, other than while engaged in prayer and these days any ‘talking’ to the Lord is while in the position I am in at the time.

The reason the President should never acknowledge this symbolism is precisely because he is President of all the people, not just a faction. He should defend the Constitution which guarantees justice for all including the police officers that were charged in Floyd’s death. They are innocent until proven guilty and his signaling his subservience to the mob would undermine the very important protections that all accused persons must receive.
The concept of race itself is a fallacy. All humans are nearly identical genetically and the idea of “race” was an invention of the pseudoscience of eugenics. There are only individual persons and their behaviors which are the consequences of our agency. We don’t control the initial conditions of our birth or the conditioning of our upbringing but we are responsible for seeking the wisdom to understand how these influence our behaviors and strive to achieve a good life.
